Suzanne, pregnancy advisor and mum
As a former midwife I’d encourage all mums-to-be to call in for a chat if they have any concerns about their pregnancy or labour. It’s natural to have worries, but what’s important is that no pregnant woman ever feels alone. We’re here to give practical advice and support or just to listen if that’s what’s needed.

My top tips
- Pregnancy is a natural, physiological condition, not an illness! Eat healthily, exercise and get plenty of rest, but there’s no need to wrap yourself in cotton wool.
- Pay no attention to other women’s horror stories about labour and birth – it’s different for everyone, so stay positive.
- No matter how silly you think a question is, if something is worrying you, ask the question. Many other people have probably asked the same question so you won’t look silly.
About me
I felt well throughout all three of my pregnancies. The only real problem I had was getting up several times each night to go to the loo!
My babies were so good, they all slept through the night by the time they were four months old. My eldest son was so sweet always had to be accompanied by his favourite teddy called “Huggy”. Over three years we had to buy several of the same bear as they either got lost or were chewed to pieces!
