Since his birth my baby use to be qiute alert during night and asleep whole day. He wouldn't open his eyes during day even at the time of feeding. He quietly feed on my breast and go back to sleep. I was finding it very difficult to cope with his sleeping pattern.
To reverse his habit and to keep him awake during day time, I used to take him out in sling/pram, play with him all the time and do everything as per my healthvisitor, web sites and books had suggested. Eventually, one night I found him sleeping from 22:00 to 09:00. I was so much delighted and patted on my back for the success.
But this happiness did not last long. After a couple of weeks, he went back to his usual sleeping habit. I am again doing everything to keep him alert during day but nothing seems to be helping. My baby is 16 weeks old now. At first I thought that may be he is getting hungrier after feed and is waking up at night. But he refuses to feed and want to play. It is a nightmare!! Please help.

Hiya. Is your son still having a feed in the night anymore? Do you keep the room dark in the night if you are feeding him? You have probably read all of this or been told by other people but they say to keep the room as dark as possible during night feeds and not to talk to them or even make eye contact. Also if the baby is still sleeping in your room maybe it could be a good idea to move him into his own room so that atleast if he is awake during the night he wont be disturbing you too much. Other than that I dont really know what to suggest. Hope it all works out soon, Good luck x
