my labour story ;)

on wed 2nd Feb 2011 i lost my mucus plug, was due on Fri 4th Feb, didn't think much about it, i went to the midwife that morning who said he would be here by the weekend, my due date came and went and there was still no signs, Saturday morning the 5th Feb, i didn't feel right, was loosing liquid, and getting what i thought was braxton hick's, i went to bed at 11:30pm after cleaning the whole house lol and at 12:35 Sunday morning 6th Feb i had my show and instantly strong contractions started, by 8am i was in alot of pain so woke up my partner (how i managed to cope without waking him i don't know) my mum took me to the hospital and i was 4 cm dilated, i was so tired as i had not slept or eaten, at 10am i was still 4cm dilated so opted for epidural, it didnt work so oped on gas and air, by 1pm i was still 4cm dilated with contractions at every minute, so ended up being put on an inducement drip to get things going, i was very tired at this point, and hungry, my wates still had not broken so they broke them for me, at 11pm i was 8cm dilated and baby's head was low down, but was told i cant push, by 2am Mon 7th Feb i was 10cm dilated and dying to push, after and hour of pushing i wasn't making progress due to lack of energy and baby's position, so ended up with a ventouse (cap that goes on baby's head to help get them out) and at 3:11am Dylan was born weighing 6lb 15oz, it was the best feeling ever, i could not stop crying, was a long tiring labour, but id do it all again xx
