Working through it!

I woke at 4am on a saturday for a trip to the loo. When got out of bed I felt like I had wet myself, not thinking anything of it I went to the loo, cleaned myself up then went back to bed. After numerous more trips to the loo I woke my husband and said "I know this sounds stupid but I think my waters have broken", the reason I thought it was stupid was because I was only 32 weeks & 1 day, He said "oh" then went back to sleep! I was in no discomfort and went back to sleep. I got up at 6.30am and got ready for work but still felt like I was leaking. I went to work and did my job and even had to do a first aid call! When i got home from work I thought I should ring the hospital, they told me to go in to be checked. I was in no rush so packed an overnight bag just incase and had a bath. After waiting 2 hours I was eventually seen and after another 2 1/2 hours they confirmed my waters had broken and told me that I needed to stay in until the baby was born. I hardly slept that night but was feeling fine on the sunday. I woke early on the Monday morning feeling like I needed the loo but I went, and went and went! I had been pooing past myself for hours that morning!I kept getting the pains but was sure there was nothing left to come out! I was sent down for a scan at about 9.30am to see how much fluid there was left around the baby, there was nothing to worry about there apparantly! When i got back to the ward I was having these pains more regularly and thought should mention it to the midwife, as my tummy wasnt tightening she didnt think it was anything to be bothered about. I was pacing the ward and couldnt manage to eat my lunch. At 1pm the midwife got me 2 paracetamol and told me to get my pjs back on. It took me ages to take the tablets and longer to put my pjs on!At 2pm she told me to ring my husband and said she would be back in a minute to spec me, At 2.30pm she came with another midwife to see what was going on, as it turned out I was 7cm dilated and needed to go straight to the delivery suite!I still didnt think that I was having the baby and luckily when she pulled the curtain back my husband was standing there with a look of horror on his face!I was wheeled straight to the delivery suite by which time it was 2.50 pm and now 10cm dilated! The midwife there told me how to breathe and warned me that there would be a lot of people in the room because the baby was so early. I was still very calm and very focused and delivered my son naturally at 3.26pm. He was taken straight to special care where he stayed for 4 weeks. That 4 weeks was more painful than the labour in an emotional way especailly when I had to come home without him. I am sure that if I hant gone to the hospital that saturday I would hve given birth to him in work on the Monday! I just hope that my next baby comes into the world as easily!
