hi i m sarah 21 hav two children and sometimes i get really down, i dont no many people in my area, i live in halifax and i just want to meet people my age, i have two children a boy that is nearly 3 and a girl that is nearly 2, i live with my partner who i love to bits but when he gose to work i feel really lonely and it gets me down, i try and put a brave face on for the kids but sometimes its hard, i just want to meet up with someone and have a chat and laugh, i go to mother group twice a week and it is full of people in there 30's which i dont mind but they just talk to the mothers the same age and i just sit at back and it makes you feel bad about myself, i only go there for my kids couse they love but when i go i dread it.

Hiya
I dont live in your area so cant really meet up with you im afraid. I also had my children young, had my 1st at 19 and ive just had my 2nd and im now 22. I also felt lonely, especially after having my 1st child because none of my friends had started having children yet. They were all either in university or working so all week while my partner worked I was at home with my son by myself. I found that the older mums at baby clinic and baby groups all seemed to stick together and looked down on me, they seemed to aaume that I was a teenage mum who had got pregnant by accident and probably didnt work or anything. None of which is true as both of my children were planned and I work fulltime, although im on maternity leave at the moment. So I think I know partly how you are feeling. Not sure if you will already know about this but Take a Break magazine have recently set up a support group for mums to meet eachother and either talk online, by phone or meet up. I have signed up for this and have met a couple of people who I am now in touch with. Maybe it would be good for you to also sign up as you may be able to find people of your age in your area. The web address is chums4mums.co.uk. Good luck for the future and I hope you find some company soon x
