If he's thirsty then i would, failing that give water instead it took awhile for my lo to accept water but now she'll happily drink anytime and i give it to her for lunch as she refuses a bottle of milk at lunchtimes. xxxx

my baby is 10 months old and sometimes she wants juice, sometimes milk and sometimes water! We're all the same though, sometimes i want pop and not a tea or a coffee!
At tea time around 4pm i wont give her milk, i only give water or juice , this makes sure that she is ready for a milk bottle at bedtime, 5.30 till 6 pm. she will then sleep until 6am. i think this is why she will sleep so long too!
my lad was the same at this age and he's 13 years now!

I too am unsure bout feeding my 6and a half month old boy milk with every feed as he cries for the milk before the food so does it matter which first? Also should i stop a top up feed at 10pm as im sure he wouldnt sleep thru without it x

My baby girl (8 1/2 months) still takes 4 to 5 bottles of milk a day plus 3 solid meals plus water and sometimes juice and is perfectly healthy, they're all different just like us so don't worry about giving your baby as much milk as he/she wants. Try half a bottle of milk just before dinner time and then the rest if he/she wants it afterwards. Have you tried just water instead of juice? Good luck!

hi i'm pregnant at the moment but my friend has some good advice she says try to give a bottle inbetween the meal times; 7am bottle and breakfast 10am bottle 12 give them water or juice first, because they'll be hungary the're more likely to drink a bit first! give them the're food, then at 3 pm a bottle then 5pm juice or water again before giving them food then last bottle at bed time, as they get older they will naturally give up the inbetween bottles, please remember to do this at the times that suit your child, hope this helps
