Hi hun it can go on for a few weeks yet every women is individual, and i'm told that you bleed heavier with your first one, but i don't know how true that is, i can't remember how long i bleed for but it was a while. Don't feel embarrassed how are you supposed to know these things if you don't ask, thats how i feel anyway. congrats on the birth of your lo, mines now 9 months old and i don't know where the time has gone xxxx
hi hon
i've had number 3 baby 4 months ago my first i only bleed for 3 weeks my second was the same but the last one it kept going for 9 weeks slowing right back to a trickle to full start of period type bleeding. if your really worried ask a doctor and remember if you dont feel comfortable with your doctor see a different one. hope it stops soon
hiya,my baby jessica is 11 weeks old now and she is my first baby and i bleed for about 7 weeks in all, it stopped slightly at about 4 weeks then started again,i then had a weeks break and then got my period!i was worried too as i didnt know what to expect, i asked the nurse when i went for my 6-8 week check up and she assured me it was all normal.i think every one is different as there bodies cope in different ways afterwards.hope this helps and your not stupid!!and congrats on your little girl x

hi sweet heart im 7weeks pregnant im due in jan, but i have 3 children already.
i can remember being just the same as you after i had my first baby at 19 and was very scared as you dont have anythink to go buy.
but believe me it is perfectly normal to worrie. your not alone. even i worrie and i have had 3 like i said and bled right up untill my 2nd month of babys being born. but honey always better to get checked out because you can make it harder for yourself with worrie.

Hi, I'm a mother 2 a 9 month old and after I had my baby I bleed for more than 5 weeks, I was so concerned by it so I asked for some feedback from health vistior and midwife. they both said the same things that it was absolutely normal to bleed for couple of weeks straight after the birth. My bleeding was much lighter near to the end of it.
