Weight gain

unable to eat healthy.

Hello Ladies, I am 21 and 12 weeks pregnant, this will be my first. But at the moment I am finding it impossible to eat healthy food, have always been a fitness fanatic and eat extremely healthily. But due to feeling constantly sick all I want to eat is unhealthy stuff, bread, chips etc. I am worried I'm going to be the size of a house in no time? Does anyone else crave unhealthy food constantly? and how are you dealing with it. I wish I could keep down healthy stuff. Charlotte xx

Hi
I too find it hard to eat healthy, but not for craving unhealthy food but because Ive gone off veg and meat in a bit way. The thought of it makes me sick.
Im ok with fruit and salad so Im trying to eat as much of that as I can.
I do crave home made chip though ummmmmm!!!

I'm 10 weeks and am not good at all with eating at the moment!! All I want to eat is unhealthy food, take-aways, pasta, crisps, chocolate. I was always a healthy eater and went to the gym but now I just cant! I'll be massive before i know it. I've already put on a bit of weight, def not a baby bump yet, just weight gain!!! Help!

i am 27weeks pregnant and i have found it hard the whole way through the pregnancy to eat healthy. i have put on 3stone already. My bump is quite neat but extremely large. i have such a sweet tooth. i do enjoy fruit but its easier to head for the chocolate cupboard. My husband says he dosen't notice my weight but im sure he does. never mind i will worry about healthy eating once my baby boy is born.x.

Dont worry i was the same at the beginning (im 20 weeks now) , i find that when i felt sick and tired all the time you do crave carbs and unhealthy foods! Dont worry though your body will tell you what it wants, and this passed for me, although i still dont jump for joy at the thought of eating veg i do try and force myself!

i'm glad it's not just me. i'm 16 wks and most of the weight i;ve put on so far is fron eating loads of unhealthy food. i'd lost 2 st before getting pregnant and now i'm putting it all back on before i've even got a bump.

I am 31 weeks now, and throughout my pregnancy I have been eating loads of bread. For the first 4 months I felt so unbelievably sick, but eatting bread would settle my stomach. Before I became pregnant I never ate bread! I wouldnt eat much pasta or rice either, but they are all foods that fill you up and give you slow release energy, so I figured it was my bodies way of making me eat more. I still eat really healthily - I have wholegrain bread, and when I crave something sweet I go for the fruit.
However I do have a friend who ate nothing but mars bars an coke throughout her pregnancy and her baby was completely healthy!

i am 25 weeks pregnant and have put on 2 stone however the only place i have put weight on is my bump, and boobs. i am wondering what the average weight gain is per average pregnancy, as i worry that i have put too much on.
I must admit that i have been eating a lot of chocolate, which i didnt do before.

HIya

Im the same. Its even got to the extent that people at work were shocked to see me eating chocloate as Ive never really bothered about it before and eating crisp sarnies, oh my god that's heaven! Ive gone of meat and veg and when I said to the midwife she told me to listen to my body....at this rate I will be a walking mars bar. Think you just need to go with it. I think we all bother to much about our bodies and should just focus on us being happy and content as we have got a hard time ahead of us with sleepless nights!! :-)

What I've tried which is really helpful is really cheesy pasta, try healthy fruity buiscuits, ricecakes are plain but good for a snack, you can get like reaally cheesy ones!
