Weight gainWeight gain
My names Hayley, I'm 18 weeks 3 days pregnant with my first and haven't gained a single pound. Wondered whether any mums to be were in the same position or whether it's something I should be concerned about. Had absolutely no sickness, and I'm eating well. =o)
Hi Hayley dont worry, i dont think i gained anything till the 24 week mark, as felt really sick at the start. I am now 33 weeks and have gained a stone. I think for some people its normal to gain most towards the end. To be honest i hardly showed untill the 24 week mark, and people still say im small now, although my measurements are all within the norm.
no, dont be concerned at all. as above said, a lot of weight gain happens at the end. i was in maternity clothes with my first baby at 10 weeks and with my second baby at 8 weeks. i gained 2 stone with my first baby but had no sickness. with my second baby i was very sick right up until 16 weeks and i gained 3 stone! my second is now 12 weeks old and i'm battling to get rid of the extra weight. be pleased, you may be one of the lucky ones!
I'll probably regret posting this in 8 weeks time then lol when i wake up a stone heavier. Did get a shock today when I couldn't fit into my last remaining pair of non maternity jeans. Only thing that I was worried about was if I am not gaining then surely the baby isn't either. I have my next scan feb 14th anyway. Pregnancy is so stressful lol! Hopefully after my next scan I'll be able to rela a bit more and start enjoying it.
your baby will be doing fine. you gaining weight does not have a direct bearing on what your baby is gaining. obviously you need to be eating well for your baby but piling on pounds does not necessarily make your baby any healthier. my friend was continuously losing weight through both of her pregnancies due to serious sickness (hyperemesis), was hospitalised due to dehydration etc etc but both her children were born weighing between 9 and 10 lbs!
Ahh well there ya go I'm probs stressing over nowt and like u say I might b one of the lucky ones. Only time will tell lol
id say your luckily!!
