Big bump!

Hi
I'm nearly 27 weeks and everyone keeps commenting that my bump is huge. Does this mean a big baby? I'm only 5'4 and haven't put on any weight anywhere else so far so my bump really does stand out. I'm starting to panic!! Anyone else feel the same?

Hi
I'm 30 weeks and think my bump is about average really, but I get people saying "oh you're not very big are you?" or the complete opposite. To be honest I think you find people tend to compare you with someone they know who is/was pregnant or themselves when they were pregnant. I'm quite big framed anyway so my bump doesn't stick out as much as some. But each time I go to the midwife and get measured i'm measuring just about right for where I am. I've known people who have had huge bumps and only small babies and small bumps and big babies. I wouldn't worry too much. If your midwife thinks you're getting too big they will send you for a scan.

i think people say what they think before their brains kick in lol.i get the same as kaz.i walked into my husbands office had 3 women tell me i was tiny and then walked into the next one and they were like your huge.dont panic.most of it is most likely to be water anyway and when you havent filled oput everywhere else you kinda look odd with a bump stuck on the front of you.

an old school friend of mine go the shock of his life when i turned round when he saw me in the supermarket.made me laugh.

i wouldnt worry too much with my first i was the same size as friend when she had twins who weighed 8lbs each but when my son was born he was only 8lbs and the midwifes said the rest must have been water, im now 37+5 weeks and ive had people say im huge and others say i look average. if there is anythig wrong ur midwife will say but u should just forget about it and enjoy ur pregnancy. x

Hi Jessc,
I'm Anne and i'm 25weeks gone, and having a boy. I'm all bump and gone from a 33" (ish) to a 41" waist and only put on 10lb. I get what Lunny and Kaz get, My sister says i'm huge (but i think she is comparing me to her friend Becky) and my mum says i have a small neat bump, but i think it depends on how much water your carrying.
Take care
Anne xx
