when it finished is irrelevant given a period can last for a few days to a week, it is when it started which is important. if your period started on 12 nov, then you were due on 12 dec (if you have a 28 day cycle), so, yes your period is late now. if your period. if however, you think it should have finished by 12 nov (yes, that is irrelevant but given you arent sure it is at least a date for you to use!), then your period is definitely late now! the important thing is going to be how long your cycle is as if it started on 12 nov but your cycle is longer than 28 days then your period may not be due for another few days. do a test and see what happens. if it is positive, then you have your answer! if it is negative but your period doesnt start in the next week, then test again just in case your cycle is longer than 28 days.

i have no idea how long my cycle is, no one ever taught me how to work that bit out lol but thank you for helping me out, i'm planning on waiting a few days either way :)

you count your cycle from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period. problem with being on the pill is that until your body adjusts to not being on it, you wont know as it can change. it can also change after having a baby. i had a 28 day cycle, i then had my first baby and after that it was usually 35 days long but anywhere from 28 to 49 days was normal for me! i had my second baby 5 weeks ago so who knows what will happen this time!

Hi, I am exactly the same as you I have no idea about cycles, ovulating etc. However I always put a star on the calender to mark the 1st day of my period. I had a periodstarting 7th November and did I test on Monday and it was positive! Definately worth doing one in a few days x x

ohh congratualtions!!!! i usually do but since coming off the pill they've been all over the place so i was waiting to see a pattern before i marked them down, i've also been a bit scatter brain lately so i can't remember my last exactly lol i'm just trying not to get my hopes up lol x

well this time last yr I was due on the 18 nov but didn't come on I didn't even think about it until I went to supermarket on christmas eve and just suddenly decided to do a test and came out positive do a test in the next couple of days and good luck!! jan xx

My boyfriend wants me to do one tomorrow before he goes to work, he's too excited to wait lol let you all know how it goes :) fingers crossed ladies xx

It was neg :( but it feels wrong if that makes sense? i'm going to see what happens after christmas and then go to the doctors maybe x

i know what you mean about feeling wrong.. when i got pregnant with sam i done the test 4 days before my period was due and it was positive.. however this time i done one on the day i was due and it was negative tho i knew i was pregnant sounds daft i done another test 2 days later as i still haddnt had my period and it was positive...
so i would give it a few days if you dont have your period try again
