When i was a little girl, i wanted to copy my mum and have 2 boys first then 2 girls. I was the 3rd child and 1st girl. I weighed just 5lb 2 oz. I follwed my mum all the way 2 boys first then 2 girls, my first girl like me, was small at 5lb 3oz. I divorced when my youngest of the 4 was 9, and met a lovely new bloke, who didnt have children. I wasnt going to at first, i warned him that i had 4 and didnt want any more. After many conversations, i agreed to go again, it was like starting from the beginning all over again. We both wanted a boy and got one. Eddie was born in sept 2005. 5 months later while i was feeling great about having a baby in the house again my partner asked the chances of another baby, well, i just couldnt say no. But we wanted a girl this time around, mostly because i said it would be the last time, and my new partner would have a son and daughter. Erin Grace was born 3 weeks early on 2nd Jan 2007, i only washed her clothes and bedding etc the day before (new year) and i packed my hospital bag in labour.
How did i manage it?
I remembered reading somewere that male sperm can swim faster, But they die off quicker (males dont have stamina!!)
Female sperm are slower but last longer!
So, if you want a boy, have sex practically every day to make sure the males are always present on egg release.
Girls are harder, you have to have sex 2/3 days before ovulation and then not have any for a week. This is to make sure all the males have died off and only girls are left.
This might mean that you dont get caught that month and you will have to try again. Helps if you know your ov days.
Always worked for me anyway.
Planning number 7 for this month but it doesnt matter after 3 of each which we have this time. its 50/50 because we havent tried to make it a girl.
Anyone got any other tips?
i had actually heard that too!
i dont know how we managed it, but we only had sex once on the 1st day of a positive ovulation test and then for whatever reason we didn't manage to get to do it again while i was ovulating. it
meant that we didn't quite get the fun making babies because 3 weeks later (having only had unprotected sex once) i was pregnant! we had a girl...! does that fit in with the theory??? i would love to have a boy next time, so i might try it in 3 years time!
That was lucky!! well done, if you missed the sex when you were actually ovulating, then that would fit in with the theory! maybe it is definetly true. it would be intresting if any one had just found out boy/girl and can remember if they only occasionally had sex or were always at it? sorry to be so blunt!!!!!
Great "story" Shaz, having 8 kids of my own (with number 9 on its way), 3 boys and 5 girls, and each time we had the boy/girl we wanted! my little trick is if you want a boy, then all you have to do is dress like a man during sex, it works for me, the last time we had a boy i dressed like a hairy biker for 3 weeks! works a treat, hope this helps everyone x.
what ever works for you. glad it did, mind you, bit far fetched for me.
I have come on here to make friends, share experiences and have fun. Hope most people feel that way!!!!!
sorry you think its far fetched but its the way we live. I love this site to share my experiences too x
Hi shaz. When we are ready to start for No 2 we may give your theory a go. Good luck with No. 7. Keep me informed. xx
Hi Rubsette, got to be worth a shot, until i had no.5 i thought it was just some mad coincedence that it had gone that way. but i think theres something in it. i heard on the news a few weeks back that, some thing to do with what you eat, boy sperm hate it but girls like it, so the girls are more drawn to it. have to look it up and see what it was. I'll let you know.
Hi Blob69, i wasnt trying to offend you, it just seemed that you were implying that i wasnt telling the truth and that it was some "story". what will really spin you out is if i tell you that my last 3 children all weighed the same at 6lb 3oz. I think my body has had enough by then. i'm 5ft 3 in. so was never built for big babies. Nice to meet some one else who has had more than me. the only other person that i know is my next door neighbour who has 12 or is it 11? she was in our local paper because her eldest daughter had a baby the same month she did. The star newspaper for mid devon. Amazing! but she loves kids, so up to her. I dont plan on going that far. 7 is the last one. x
