Hi , i had this aswell ! i done a test as my period was late and it was negative but i left it a few days like yourself then did another 2 and the both came back positive maybe you should try another test within next couple of days if your period has still not arrivied. If that test then also shows negative then maybe you should contact your gp and discuss why your periods late .. fingers crossed tho hun good luck xx

Hi Mrs White, even if you did a normal test now assuming that you've reached or gone past the date your period was due, then it should give an accurate result so I would test again. The early tests are more sensitive but even a couple of days before are not quite as accurate as waiting till the day you are due.
Our bodies can do strange things to us when we want to be pregnant and your period could be late due to stress, but fingers crossed you just tested that little bit too early and if you do another one you'll get a blue line! (Or pink line lol!!)

I took a first response test the day my period was due andbit came back negative. 1 week later still no period I did another test, think it was just a cheapy, can't remember and it came back positive. Here I am 8 months later playi g the last few weeks of the waiting game.
Do you know the exact date you ovulated? It turns out I ovulated a week later than I thought so would have only been 1 week pg when I took the first test.

Thank you for all your replies - really appreciate it. I'm now 3 days late on my period... I have been monitoring my cycle and I'm usually one day before or one day after my expected period date. I think I will give it until the beginning of next week and re-test... if i can wait that long! Fingers crossed i'm not getting my hopes up for no reason. I suppose what will be, will be :) xxx

After I last posted I took your advice and waited a few more days and did another couple of tests over a few days = BFN X 3.

So I just left it but have been eating like a horse, feeling very tired, a little bit of sickness etc - so just put it down to my body playing tricks on me because we've wanted to catch so much. I've really been feeling like its never going to happen!

I called my doctor last week and explained no period but pregancy tests from a few weeks ago said BFN! He arranged for me to go and have some blood tests in the next few weeks to look @ my cycle. In the mean time Me & the Mr, decided that we would pay and go and c someone private but before we tried that decided to pick up some ovulation tester kits (never tried them before) and some pregnancy tests to try one more month before going private.

I decided just by chance to take one of these pregnancy tests yesterday afternoon and got a BFP!!!! 6 X Tests later and still plenty of BFP :)

Very excited!!! I would really recommend staying away from the early pregnancy test kits, I don't think they are reliable (I looked on the back and it says 70% reliable - I don't think there is enough hormone in your urine this early for a clear result & it certainly made me really down hearted especially after trying for 8 months!)

Everyone on here that are still trying, please keep positve - I was trying 2 years with my 1st daughter and 8 months with this one, I think its all about the right timing. (My online monthly cycle really helped me - although its only a rough guide)

Thank you, I worked it out to be about 6 weeks 5 days (approx) from the day of last period but I'm not sure - worked it out on the monthly cycles website that due date would be around june 7th but will wait to see midwife etc.

Oh how nice my little man was a june baby too (he should have been a july baby though!).
We are on month 8 of trying now but I had loads of pregnancy symptoms last month despite not being pregnant and am having spotting now (tmi sorry!) which I'm hoping is ovulation bleeding but could just be my cycles going haywire! Am trying not to think about it too much but the more I try not to the more I think lol! xx
