Trying for a babyComing off microgynon 30 after 4 years
Hiya!
im 17 years old and turning 18 in april. Me and my partner have been together for a while and are now ready to try for a baby. Im currently at college and finish in May/June and walk away with a BTEC Extended diploma in health and social care level 3... I have applied to university and are waiting for replies. If i get accepted i want to inform them i would like to take a gap year before starting my degree there in social work... I know full well i want a good career but i also badly want my own family. I am very mature for my age, had to grow up fast and cant really relate to other girls my age as all they want to do is get off with boys or drink alcohol all the time when that is my idea of irresponsible behaviour, not neccessarily living your life.
Anyway... many people before knowing my age think i am a lot older, they are surprised when i tell them my age due to my vocabulary and the way i express my opinions in an adult way - just thought id mention this before i get comments of "your to young" - my partner works, he works in IT, and has a good wage, he also drives and we are privately renting later on in the year, we are both starting to save money. I am very excited to become a mummy, i know it is a full time job but i can do this. Any woman who feels ready can.
I have come off microgynon 30 pill today after 4 years and are wondering how long it would take for me to get pregnant? I have spoken to my partner and we have both agreed its best to start trying once ive had my first natural period so the midwife can give us a predictable due date. Sorry if ive blabbed on a bit lol would like some advice as i cant talk to friends my age as they have no interest - please be fair with your comments xxxxx
Hi. I was on the injection for 6 years and came off that a year and half ago and went on the pill as I was told it take a long time to get out of my system. I went on the pill as I was getting married and didn't to fall pregnant before the wedding. after coming off that it took me about 4 months to fall pregnant.
I'm not really convinced that the lenth of time you've been on the pill and giving it time to get out of your system is right, I think it's whenever your body is naturally ready.
Try not to think about it too much, as you don't want to stress yourself out and stress your body out
x
okay thanks for your comment. So I could fall pregnant say 4 months from now? I dont mind when i do fall pregnant, like you say its when my body is naturally ready. Should I and my partner have unprotected sex now or wait until my next natural period? Sorry if its TMI xx
Hiya, I was on microgynon for four years as well before comming off it to get pregnant. I didnt even wait for a period just stopped taking it and was pregnant within the month so before I even had a chance to have a period. Ovb every1s different but it didnt take us any time to concieve and was on the pill for exactly the same amount of time. Good luck (that might sound a bit weird when your trying :s but hey.)
hi
it is absolutely impossible to say. you could fall pregnant next month or it may not be until next year. anything up to 12 months is normal but 18 months isnt uncommon. your age may or may not play a part in that - you are young so you may fall quickly but equally it may work against you....there is simply no way of knowing. it is up to you whether you wait, but to be honest, i would wait for one normal cycle before you start trying just to be sure that the artificial hormones are out of your system. waiting for one period is usually only for dating purposes but in reality it doesnt matter as the date you get at a 12 week scan is the one you go by anyway. your due date by your period will be changed by the scan so either way it doesnt matter hugely.
i was 25 when my partner and i decided to have our first baby and we fell pregnant that month. i was 29 when we tried for our second and it took 3 months to fall. i hadnt been on any form of hormonal contraception.
Hi, in my opinion every woman is different and so you can't put a time period on these things. Other factors such as age, weight and diet can also effect how long it can take to conceive. I was 20 when I fell pregnant with my little one, I had been on the pill for 5 years and it took us 8 months before I fell pregnant. Try not to be too disheartened if you don't fall pregnant straight away, these things take time and just make it so much more worth it when you finally do conceive. Good luck x
Hi
I have been on microgynon 30 for 5 months almost, and I did stop take the pills around november, and since then me and my husband has been trying for a baby without any luck. My question here is do I have a chance of becoming pregnant after stopping the pills?
regards
Hi, im 19 and my baby is now 9 months old, he was planned but we still got the 'are you sure your ready? your too young blah blah blah' but to be honest, its been the best experience of my life and i know we done the right thing at the right time for us.
Anyway, i was on microgynon 30 for 4 years too, i finished the pack and had the normal bleed then got caught straight away :) perfect timimg for us :)
