i also had an irregular first scan as i was too early for them to tell if everything was ok the following week i was sent to pregnancy support for another scan and there it was a tiny flashing light inside the sack try you hardest not to worry because stress is not good for you or the baby good luck with everything kep me informed if you have any news !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! best of luck x

Thanks madcoo - have got my re-scan this Friday, I just hope and pray we see that heartbeat even though I don't even think I'll be able to look!! Think I'll be able to relax a bit more then please God! Don't know how I'm going to get through the next 33 weeks!

ive had the same thing went for a scan at 7 weeks could see the heartbeat and the baby ive just had another scan yesterday at 9 weeks and they said the sac was irregular but the baby had grown and there was a heartbeat and not to worry i am now worried to death and making myself ill over this but trying not to i have lokked on the internet and every where i look it says its a sighn of misscarriage i now have to wait till 12 - 13 weeks for another scan why do they tell you things like this and not explain what it means ?

Hi gough007 - it's so hard isn't it! Telling someone that an irregular shaped gestation sac could be the sign of a failing pregnancy or that on the other hand everything could be fine really does not put your mind at rest although to be fair I guess they are just trying to keep you informed! Then where else have you got to turn for information but the internet which can make you twice as worried after reading all the horror stories! I try to stop myself looking on the internet because all it does is add fuel to the fire but I can't help it just incase I find that piece of information that guarantees me that everyting is going to be ok which I know I'll never find - no-one can guarantee that! At least your baby is growing and there is a heartbeat which are good signs - I'm just praying that they find a heartbeat on Friday! It's so scarey but all we can do is hope and pray and try not to worry - it's sooooooooo hard though, I try my best but have my moments believe me! Like on Monday when my boobs weren't sore anymore, I really convinced myself that was it! This is the scareiest thing I've ever done! We only got married in May and it's our first baby and we just want it soooooo much! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you! All you can do is try to put it to the back of your mind and try to get on with the day to day as best as you can until the next scan - ultimately there's nothing either of us can do but hope - what wil be will be! Great news! I went for my rescan last Friday (8wks 4 days) and they saw my gorgeous beany baby and it's little heart was beating away! Whats more my irregular shaped sac had changed and is now nice and round!! They did find a fibroid but apparently these are quite common in pregnancy and shouldn't affect the baby in any way! Am far less anxious than I was although will feel better still after the 12wk scan!

congratulations on your pregnancy and im glad all is ok for you hun!!
You will worrry til you have your scan trust me!!! when i went for a scan to see how far i was they couldnt find a heartbeat so i had to go to the hospital and have an internal scan where they found the heartbeat!! i used to worry myself silly just before each scan though!! i now have a very active, alert and healthy 6 week old daughter!!!

hi my 1st scan at 6wks and they were not sure if i was having am ongoing pregnancy i worried myself sick til my next can 3 wks later where they found a heartbeat! i am now 31wks!!

try not 2 stress and let nature take its course
