28 week antenatal check!

I have my GTT and 28 week blood tests tomorrow, and as I am having my baby in a hospital out of my PCT I have to go to the antenatal department at the hospital for my blood test as they use a different lab. Anywya my confusion is over what else happens at your 28 week check? I saw my midwife at 25 weeks and then she said she wouldn't see me now until 31 weeks. So I will only get my bloods this week and nothing else, is this what everyone else has experienced?

I also started getting measured at my 28 week app but other than the bloods and normal urine check that was all x

Thanks! I started getting measured at 25 weeks. But seeing as it's only bloods tomorrow, I guess I wont get measured or a urine check!

If the hospital don't measure or do unine then ring your midwife and arrange for her to do it, the measurements and things are the best bit! X

i was on community based care with both of my children and 28 weeks was always just bloods done with a nurse. i saw the mw at 25 weeks, then the nurse for bloods at 28 wks, then mw again at 30 weeks for the usual antenatal appointment and to get results of 28wk bloods. same with my 2nd baby although you dont have a 25 wk check with second babies (the 25wk check is exclusive to first pregnancies)

bambams - in my area the glucose test is just done as standard - you drink a set amount of lucozade and then go and have a blood test done. whether you have the test (in my area) is not dependent on any other blood results - it is just another routine test

They booked my GTT at my 12 week scan so have been waiting for ages for it lol. In my area they go on history and BMI. As I'm over weight I was offered it, but I think it varies at every area as Livi's mum says. I had to have a blood test at 9.35 then drink 410ml of lucozade in 5 minutes then have another blood test done 2 hours later.
Thanks for all your comments by the way! I have my next midwife appointment at the Dr at 31 weeks, still can't believe how quick time's flying it's crazy!
