Pregnancy pains & problems

constant headaches

I'm in my 16th week and for about 3 weeks I seem to have a headache every day sometimes there not to bad and other days I'm in agony.
I've been to the doctors and she prescribed me paracetamol but I'm wary about takeing them as they are quite strong and they don't seem to relieve the pain much anyway.
I've even had to take time off work because I feel so drained.

Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who has this problem to and how they cope.
Apart from that I'm enjoying my first pregnancy.

hi hun congrats on being pregnant lol.
im only 12 weeks but have sufered terrible in this pregnancy with everything especialy headaches bn given paracetamols also. but i find the more i drink the less they bother me , as a big factor of headaches is dehydration in pregnancy n most of the time u wdnt think ur dehydrated so try drinking more than wat you do its worth a try as i said it works for me. xxx

I also suffered terribly with headaches and light-headedness. Drinking plenty of water helped & staying cool. i was lucky in the sense that i didn't work during pregnancy & it was my 1st so i could rest but the exhaustion that comes with pregnancy is probably also a reason for headaches! i want another now but am worried as i will have a one year old to look after this time! Try take it easy and take any help thats offered!xx

at 16 to 21 weeks i too had violent headaches with this baby, midwife said it was hormonal,i never suffered carrying my girls but with this being a boy i suffered and still do sometimes and im 36 weeks, take care sweet and take a soluble co-codomal it helps more than paracetamol.

Hi, i too had a headache for 10 days straight, Midwife said it was all fine and to take paracetamal and i agree with the other posts drink plenty of water and i found when i went to bed i would practise deep breathing to relax (i have a very stressful job) this would help me drop off to sleep quickly and i still do it now.hope you feel better soon xx

Hi. I am 15 weeks pregnant and seem to have had a headache everyday since my pregnancy began. The midwife told me paracetomol is perfectly safe, but I'm reluctant to take too many. I bought a little stick of "4head" which was about _4 but well worth it. I was a bit dubious at first because I don't usually go for alternative remedies but it seems to work instantly. It doesn't last for as long as tablets but is safe to use as often as possible.

hiia, im 22 weeks pregnant and have had headaches since i was about 12 weeks, my headaches are usually really bad. i find that if i take 1 paracetamol and 1 co-codamol together when it is really bad helps alot, although i try my hardest to not take any tablets. also drink lots of water and go to bed for a few hours for a sleep.

I have started suffering migranes uring my pregnancy but I'm now 32 weeks and the midwife's told me to phone the labour ward if they flair up again due to the risk of pre eclampsia. I find a couple of paracetamol and a nap usually helps me. Mine flair up when I am over tired I have worked out.
