Hi there. I can understand you being worried but I'm sure your midwife will know what she's doing. It all depends on how high your blood pressure is and how much protein is in your urine. Sometimes you can have pre-eclampsia for weeks and still carry to full term as long as it's mild. They keep a very close eye on your blood pressure and urine so they can take action as soon as it's needed. Having said that, if you really are worried that the midwife is not treating you properly, maybe you should seek a second opinion as pre-eclampsia can be very serious. I developed it at 31 weeks and had to be induced at 32 weeks as I deteriorated fast. Everything was fine in the end though and I have a perfectly healthy 8 month old little girl now.
i personally would get a second opinion, better be safe than sorry....i had raised blood pressure in my first pregnancy, midwife said that was fine, until i had a stillbirth due to pre eclampsia.
not trying to scare you, but what im trying to say is ,if your worried, go and seek advice.pre eclampsia is a serious matter, although others may not think so,

hi rachel, i would also get a second opinion, go and see your gp or even ring the ante natal ward and see what they think
