Pregnancy fashion & beautyStretch marks!
Ahh I feel like I'm covered in them, I moisturise twice a day and have been since 20 weeks but I'm still covered! I feel like a hippo that's got an elephant inside of it! And I still have 4 weeks left, does anyone else feel the same? Need some cheering up as my partner keeps saying 'aw its good you have stretch marks, shows he's growing'!! That doesn't make me feel any better! I've put on loads of weight as well which is fine but it's all gone to my face lol x
i have got lots of stretch marks. had loads with my first and got worse with my second. they arent attractive but only me and my other half see them and we both know why i have got them. i am very proud of them now, they are my baby lines! they do fade in time. creams wont help though, it is down to skin type i'm afraid.
Hi Abi, im 27weeks and i feel like a fat moany recluse. luckily no sign of any stertch marks yet. got some on my boobs with last pregnancy.I'm gonna keep oiling. twice a day.
I think in genral genetics plays a big part where stretch marks are concerned, none of sisters or my mum got them. my mum had 6 kids, and had the twiggy shape during the 70's.
I must say i am looking forward to getting my body back im determined to slimming down and feel good about myself again. I'm 37 so feel like its my last chance to look good. 'Victoria Beckham I hate you' lol! xx
hi abi im covered in them too they are all over my legs and hips they look like scars at the mo in saying that this is my 3rd baby sometimes they upset me but then i remind myself of the reason i have them- my 2 beautiful girl's and my baby boy bump due in 2 week's to me they are a bit like war wound's a symbol of what i went through in order to have my children... to be honest my partner doesnt mind them and never comment's on them but it doesnt stop me getting self concious now and again i think we all have body part's we dont feel great about at times but the only advice i can give is to remind yourself they are a small sacrifice for having a beautiful baby =) hope i helped even just a little xx
Thank you all, makes me feel a million times better knowing that I'm not the only one! The creams and oils make me feel like I at least tried to stop the stretch marks. I guess my chubby face will get better once I can lose some weight lol doesn't help that my partner is a chef so I get really yummy food all the time! I've started woddeling aswell but I'm putting that down to babies head ha, thank you though made me feel much better :) x
your welcome sometimes it's a comfort to know your not alone =) waddling is probably baby's head settling into your pelvis my fiance says i walk like a penguin!!! oooh you lucky thing there's nothing like having a nice meal every night =) saying that i get the cooking done for me every night because i should be resting im told lol xxxx
hi!
i never got any stretch marks at all with my 1st and even tho i measured 4 weeks bigger with both i didnt get any with my 2nd...so i thought! a couple days after she was born i noticed red stretch marks all over my lower tummy and the front of my upper thighs. im not sure if i just cudnt see them when i was pregnant coz my tummy was in the way or if they only came up after either way it was a big surprise. iv never ever had stretch marks in my life and iv always used loads of BIO OIL so ireally wasnt expecting them. but like livis mummys says im proud of mine. iv got them coz im a mummy of two gorgeous girls and at the end of the day a real woman has things like celulite and stretch marks its only pretend airbrushed glamour models thats have boobs up by their ears and perfect flat tummys!
but dont worry they will get alot lighter when uv had ur baby and ur skin goes back to normal. just keep moisturizing its all u can do!
I think I lasted to about 34 weeks before my skin decided to give up! Since then I have matching sets up side of my hips/back (about where jeans would sit) and christ all mighty my lower tummy is depressing! They are all over under there! Im not bothered though they just look ghastly until they fade and all others I have from when I was a teenager (size 6 to size 12 did not do my skin any favours!) are thank fully very very light so Im expecting my baby ones to follow suit in a few years and I think I will be fine with them as I get a baby out of all this xxx
