Lilly white and holidaying in mexico - is it safe to use a sunbed during pregnancy?

Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone knows if its safe to use sunbeds whilst pregnant?
I'm 12wk gone and am going to Mexico in a few wks and don't want to look like a typical brit abroad by being lilly white - will only need a hankercheif hat and string vest to complete the look!!
I'm not a fan of fake tan either as always end up looking like a wotsit!!
Will be glad of any advice x x x

Hiya hun,
I personally wouldn't recoment using sun beds whilst pregnant, doctors advice you to not have bath temperatures to hot and always keep your stomach shaded in the sun, so using a sun bed seems like a definate no as it is important to keep body temperature down whilst carrying a baby. Also some stuides have shown that sun beds can cause birthing defects such as spinal bifida and other spinal malformations.

Fake tan's are ment to be safe tho, so you could always get a spray tan to give you a glow for your first few days away?

Hope you have a nice Holiday :) xox

Sunbeds are definately not safe in pregnancy at all. Fake tans are though so go for that plus in a few weeks time you will have your 'pregnancy glow/ tan' to make everyone jealous.

Enjoy your holiday xx
