Pregnancy fashion & beautyBra's and clothes...
Hiya girls :)
I recently bough a whole new draw of bra's due to my expanding bust (not complaining!)
But I have found that they are abit tight when wearing all day.
The cup size is spot on, its the elastic part that goes around the body that i'm finding uncomfy! Is there such thing as a bra extender?
Also with the summer weather comin in, i'm finding it hard to get any maternity clothes, i'm only just showing but my jeans are so uncomfy, but I want some denim skirts to wear with leggings etc.
Does anyone know of anywhere that sells fashionable maternity clothes, so many of them are aimed to a higher age, i'm only 20...I don't wear knee lenght denim skirts!
Any other 20 odd year olds out there who can help?
Thanks in advance

Yes you can get bra extenders, they come in black and white, a lot of lingerie shops should sell them definatly in Debenhams, or you could try mothercare, also when you next buy a bra make sure you can do it up on the tightest hook, then you've got room to let it out during the day and should last you longer, when your looking for a feeding bra it's the opposite way round you want to be able to comfortably be able todo it up on the tightest hook so when you've had the baby and your diaphram starts going back down you can tighten it back up best not to get the feeding bra until about 3 weeks before your due). Try New look for your maternaty cloths, and i've noticed that B Wise now do maternity clothes aswell, not really looked recently as to what styles they have as my lo will be one next month. Good luck hun xxxx
I noticed that mothercare have a short denim skirt which is quite nice.

Hiya Sassy, thanks i'll check newlook :)
When I tried the bra's on they was fine, but now that i'm wearing them all day there a little uncomfy, i'm off to town on the weekend so i'll check some underwear shops & deb's.
And thank you D about the denim skirt, I just don't want to dress older than I am, i've only just turned 20, I just want to still be able to make an effort and not let myself go :)

hi, when i was preg at 20 like you i bought a denim skirt (yes! long one!! uuurrrghhh) with the huge elastic bump covering bit, but to make it better i just cut it down to the right (short) length, ragged the edge up a bit and wore it with a vest top and black 3/4 length leggings (not maternity ones, just wore them under my bump). good luck sweetie oh and H & M sells a lot of ace maternity stuff for people our age x x x x
Hey chuck,
I'm having this problem too!! and know how you feel!!
I'm only 21 and sometimes feel fat not pregnant lol!
I'm 22wks gone so i'm showing alot, i found tht buying clothes from tesco is o.k
I used to be a size 10 but now a 14 so i just buy the bigger size and it works plus they have some really nice smock tops which will accomodate the bump and i also was
looking around the other week and found tht Peacocks do a maternity range and it looks brill but i didn't look at prices. lol!
well I hoped i've helped and good luck chick with the pregnancy hope it goes well

hi i have found gap do really nice maternity stuff, especially their jeans which are actually nice! they are not in all stores yet i don't think but definitely worth a look.
Well I checked out peakocks and they have some nice things...but nothing in my size, it all seems to start at size 12, i'm an 8 :(
Plus some places such as gap, topshop etc are to expensive for someone like me who is on a budget, especially when me and my partner are due to move house within the next few months.
I've been looking on ebay tho and come across a few things which are good value!
So to anyone else who is on a budget and looking for maternity clothes...give ebay a try, when your only wearing something for a matter of months, its a great place to buy from! :)

I live in N Ireland and am looking for advice where to get nice trendy maternity clothes, like most people i dont want to become frumpy!
new look(you can now get online) have a good range and are pretty cheap to be honest and apparently h&m do maternity wear, hope this helps! I wouldnt get too much, I know what I am like I hate to think people think I wear the same stuff all the time but I have learned to accept that its not worth buying heaps of maternity stuff as it only lasts such a short space of time. also Dorothy perkins have some nice pieces.
Hope this helps

Yeah, H+M are my favourite but I am annoyed at the lack of range in all the shops. I am a big shopaholic and I find being pregnant and wanting a range of clothes to choose from just don't go together. I am 22 too and have had many a tear re clothes and pregnany.
Maternity jeans are a must but you can get away with a smock top from somewhere like primark as luckily for us, the smock is still going strong in the fashion world.
Topshop is good if you either need casual items or office wear. But the colours are soooo dull. New Look can have some good items but their items tend to be of a similar range and nothing else grr. Mothercare is expensive and to be honest, I would expect a much better quality material/craftemanship for the price you pay, better of spending the pennies at H+M. Mothercare do have a large range though including mini skirts and going out clothes (which no one else does)
Big tip for saving money though - read the classified part of the newspaper. A lot of women go crazy buying clothes when pregnant and will sell bundles of clothes for a set price. It is worth it if you can find someone with similar taste and same size.
Good luck
Caz xx
