Hi, I've suffered from depression for years and came off a/ds before trying for a baby, am back on them now and my son is 17 months. How far along are you? Are you keeping in touch with your gp and midwife so that they can support you? If you really are feeling suicidal then your gp may consider putting you back on a low dose of a/ds - so I would definitely speak to them as soon as possible. In the meantime make sure that your partner and family know how you are feeling so that they can help you as much as possible. When i was feeling really low I tried to make myself feel better with little treats like watching my favourite dvd and having something nice to eat, lying in bed reading a magazine, actually reading really helped me as when you are engrossed in a book you're not thinking about everything else! Are you sleeping ok? I had a terrible time sleeping in my last pregnancy which didn't help at all as when you are exhausted everything is worse anyway, in my first pregnancy I used a hypnobirthing cd which used to send me to sleep every time so I wish I'd used one again last time - whether it would have helped with the birth who knows but just for the sleep factor it would have been worth a try.
I hope that your partner, family and gp can support you through this, you'll get there in the end even if it doesn't feel like it now xxx
