hiya hun , the most accurate duedate is the one done at ur 12 week scan!
this wont mean you'll get induced!
im sure the midwife will be going by your 12 weeks scan if she has the results for that!!

There are no 'accurate' dates, unless you actually know when your baby was conceived. The midwives old fashioned 'wheel' method for predicting due dates is so not accurate at all! The scans are not much better anyway. Since the scans basically go by the date of your last period jsut like the midwives method, only they will try go one better by moving the date afew days forward or backwards. You can't rely on the midwives method for due dates at all! Less than 4% of babies are actually born ont heir given due dates.

My baby was conceived on the 29th October, the day before my missed period. The date of my last period was 29th September. So basically the midwife has given me the worng due date. They've got me down as 29 weeks pregnant, when in actual fact I am 25 weeks gone! My scan due date is 4th July, which is totally ridiculous since that works out 35 weeks since conception! So they will be thinking of inducing me, unless I actually do go into premature labour!
The same thing happened with my son. He was conceived on 24th December, and I was given the wrong due date. After being induced he was born on 28th September!

I think it is best to let nature take it's course. Wait til the contractions start, don't trust the NHS due dates. As long as your taking regular ante natal appointments close to your due date, to monitor baby I can't see why you shouldn't jsut go by your own instincts.

Hi Lindy if its any help I read online that the best way to get you EDD is to count 3 mnths back from the first date of your last period and then add 7 days..this should give you your due date but obviously a year on..hope this helps xx

hi i have been given 3 different due dates and im very confused too! everywhere i have read has said that the earlier the scan the more accurate, because after a certain stage babys all grow differently! It said on a few sites that if ur period due date and ur dating scan due date is within a week of eachother then it should not get changed. so thats what im going by as they were only 3 days apart. hope this helpsand good luck xx

Hi, yea I have been given a bit of a run around too, when I first went to my midwife she said I was due on the 19th January, then at the 12 week scan they said 26th January and then at my 20 week scan we are now back to the 19th again. At my last midwidfe appointment she did my MAT B1 and asked me what date to put down.... Im going with the 19th and have told her that I will not be induced!!! little man will come when he is good and ready... try not to fret too much, know how irritating it is!!! xx

I AM CONFUSED TOO,MY PERIOD WAS ON THE 21ST OF JANUARY BUT I DID DO A PREPREGNANCY TEST ON THE 7 MARCH WHICH CAME UP NEGATIVE BUT DID ONE AGAIN ON 26TH OF MARCH AND WAS POSITIVE ,ALL THE ADVISE TELLS YOU TO USEGO FROM DATE OF LAST PERIOD BUT THIS NEGATIVE TEST IS CONFUSING ME.

hey i have been told 3 different dates i got told one b4 i had a scan, one when i had 12 weeks that they actually thought i was 10 then when i went back for my actual 12 week scan they said i was 13 weeks that now puts my due date at 23rd september.. they put me at that date cause they said it had got bigger and that the 12 weeks scan is more acurate so it shouldnt change anymore x

i have only been given 2 due dates 9th and 18th august but im not going to be carrying til any of them dates because my baby isn't growung properly x
