Sorry if this is a silly question.
As I don't have a car of my own I get lifts of friends and family, but recently the seat belt feels abit uncomfy over my bump.
I know you can get propper pregnancy seatbelts fitted in cars, but as I only get lifts off people and they use there cars to take others to places, its wouldn't be ok for them to fit a pregnancy belt.
Is there anything I can attatch to the seatbelts when I get in the car to make it abit comfier?
Hope to hear from some off you with some advice.
Thank you. xox
i found that if you put the belt so it goes across your hip bones it doesnt really press on your bump. it worked through my 1st and this pregnancy. i am 31weeks now. you can also buy a pad which you put on the seat and it has a clip on either side of it which you attach to the lap part or seat belt to hold it down. i thoughtr about buying one but they cost in the region of _25 plus so decided wasnt worth it. take care xx
hi i bought a bump belt best money i have ever spent _19.99 in mothercare,
im glad i bought it as was in a bit of an accident in car so it realy did help me and i guess you can always sell it on after, i will be putting mine on ebay !!!
Hiya, I think you are supposed to put the lap bit of the seatbelt under your bump, across the hip bones like Jo Jo said in the first post. I had a car accident at 27 weeks, baby stopped moving, obviously picking up on my stress levels, so I went to the hospital for a check up and that was one of the first questions the midwife asked (position of seatbelt). I also used to stick my thumbs in either side when I was a passenger, just to relieve some of the pressure. Good luck.xx
