OtherIs it really bad luck?
I was wondering if people really do think that buying a cot and actually putting it together in the nursery is bad luck or not? My hubby is desperate to start putting furniture together but I keep saying no as I think it's bad luck. I'm 22 weeks now so I know I have plenty of time yet but I'm so impatient. If I do wait to buy a cot and pram when is the right time to go and buy them and get them delivered and put up in the nursery?
i started buying little things from12 weeks and bought pram, dresser, cot etc. at 30 weeks, our sons bedroom was decorated by the time i was 32 weeks. i only had 5 weeks till he was born.__its good ur husband wanting to be involved and wanting to do babs nursery _i'd say start whenever you want.i dont believe in those kind of things.
Hiya hun, im 25weeks 3days. To begin with we bough the odd few small things, then past the 20 week scan we started buying coloured clothes (lots of pink =])
Where I live there is a shop where you can buy your buggy / cot ... basically anything large and pay it off weekly (nice and easy way to spread costs) and they hold the items there for you untill you want them. We have our buggy on order, and it will be in store at the end of September, i'm due the end of October so they are going to hold it there for me.
I have my moses basket kept at my aunties, but to be honest for me its a space issue as I am still at home with mum and dad whilst me and my fiance house hunt :)
If you feel ready to start setting things up then go ahead, but if your not sure you could alays keep things at relatives houses of they dont mind.
Do you know the sex of your baby? :) xox
hi hun
iwith this last one (4th) i left it all to the week before, but with other 3 prob about 35 wks as i was worried about dust settling!(mad mum!!!!!!) anyway if you want to start now

i had little things in the house but the big stuff cot etc was in the house the last 4 weeks.the pram i did get as it was on offer and i waited til the last day but we didnt put it together.so long as it wasnt together it was fine.it was my first so i didnt mind not having a house full of boxes lol.
my nan says its seeing the baby out before it arrives.
Thanks ladies, I think I will have to start shopping as I can't wait any longer. I have found out that it's a boy but the sonographer wasn't very reassuring so I think I might just stick to neutral colous. x

Hi, My nursery has been ready for weeks, I can't understand how people can leave it for so long. It's only bad luck to have a pram in the house, our's is in our garage, which is not too close to our house.
Just let him put it up, or wait till your fed up and it will cheer you up!
Hiya!
We had the pram and cot in the house from about 20ish weeks....................just do what you feel is right............I don't believe in superstitions............Just enjoy this lovely time together.........It's great that Daddy wants to get involved too!!
Best wishes to your new family,
