I'm 6 months pregnant and have just been sick for the first time. Ive felt sick before but never actually been sick and was jus6 wondering if it is normal to be sick at this late stage?

Hiya, had two pregnancies feeling a wee bit nauseous, then retched every morning with my third from beginning to end and felt queasy again in the evenings. Only physically sick once which was around the 7 month mark. Wore travel bands and drank Gaviscon to alleviate the sicky feeling until labour day, midwife said it was all down to bump getting bigger and giving me indigestion. Hope it passes for you soon. Rest lots, keep drinking water and keep blood sugars up. Take care x

I know this sounds really daft but for the last 3/4 weeks I've been feeling sick and actually being sick every day. Is it normal? I've had to take loads of time off work already and I'm starting to worry that they'll sack me soon. I work as a kitchen assistant in a Private Day Nursery and me throwing up all the time means I cant be in the kitchen for health reasons. I'm carrying really heavy tray's to the rooms with up to 40 plates, bowls, and jugs of juice for the children. I'm now being left on my own in the kitchen as the Chef has left. So the constant running up an down the stairs and rushing around is taking its toll on me. I'm also starting to suffer pains in my tummy when carrying some of the trays.
Does anyone think I should be worrying??

Hi Lauren

So you've never thrown up till now.

I started throwing up around the 10th week to week 15. I am 27 weeks today and have been throwing up since Thursday (7th).

Last week I went to see the Doctor who prescribed me Stemetil which is helping a little bit - this medicine does not harm the baby at all.

Spoke to MW this morning who explained that when the baby grows, it presses against your stomach so that is the only reason for throwing up.

My advice is go down to your docs, and tell them how you feel, and also mention Stemetil - you can have up to six tablets a day (2 x 3 times a day) depending on how you feel.

So far it has helped me slightly, but still throwing up but a lot less.

Take care.
