Morning sickness

All Day Sickness!

Hi. I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant with my first pregnancy and I'm getting sickness all day and wondered if anyone else has suffered or is suffering with the same? I have my first scan next week and will mention it to the midwife. I can't keep any food down - only crisps which I'm aware aren't very healthy! Its worse in the morning and at night. Any advice would be gratefully received!

Hi all. I'm also 15 weeks pregnant on my 1st and am still being sick also. I have lost over a stone so far and was really worried about it, I asked the midwife about it and she said it should pass and not to worry too much. Some days I'm fine but others like today it's terrible. This morning on the way to work I had to get off the bus to be sick which was a bit embarrassing. Some days I can only tollerate toast apples and cereal. I thought by now it would have passed as they say in all the books that mostly it's up until the 12th week but I suppose not everyone is the same!!!

I just wanted to say I bought some of the travel sickness bands at the weekend and they've been brilliant! I think I've only been sick twice since Saturday which is amazing! I wish someone had told me about them sooner, I feel great now and can finally start enjoying being pregnant. Thanks Gill! I got weighed at my scan and I've lost a stone since finding out I was pregnant but the Midwife wasn't concerned, she said I'll start putting weight on soon.

I can empathise, you poor thing! I am 9 and a half weeks pregnant with my first, and have been feeling constantly sick and grotty for the past 3 weeks. 'Morning' sickness indeed! If only it were confined to the mornings... I would be so happy! Work is out of the question currently, which is not great as I was self-employed.

I have tried the ginger capsules which you can get from health food shops, and they seem to help a little. They are tiny and odourless so don't make you gag, and altho I still feel nauseous quite frequently, I'm no longer actually being sick. Don't worry if you can only eat unhealthy food, that's not a problem, just try to get something into you. Dry crackers and mini Babybel cheese often make me feel a bit better. And suck citrus sweets - lemon helps with nausea.

mrs480T - your midwife should call you around 9-10 weeks to arrange your booking visit, so if you haven't heard by then you could give them a call and chase it up. And I think the travel bands are fairly inexpensive, they sell them in Boots, I'm fairly sure they are less than a tenner.

Hiya,
I'm 16 weeks 2 days and still suffer from all day sickness.
I must admit it has calmed down alot, but I still very often feel like being sick heavin etc, where as before it was feeling as well as being.
I found the only thing that helped me was anything ice cold, water, ice or ice lollies, I know this won't work for everyone thou.

Hi everyone its such a relief to read other people have been going through what I have, even though I wouldnt wish it on anyone. Im now pregnant with my fourth child and am 14 weeks pregnant. My eldest is 12years old. With all 4 pregnancies I have had all day sickness from the day I hit 6 weeks until Im 15/16 weeks. With all of mine I have ended up in hospital for nearly a week on a drip at 8 weeks. I have tried everything from ginger biscuits, ginger tea to sickness bands and nothing works for me. It is so depressing and makes you feel awful. I havent been at work since I was 6 weeks as the doctor has signed me off and have lost nearly half a stone. What I have found out is the more we are sick the healthier the baby. As I said earlier this is my 4th and this is the 1st time Ive found others that go through what I do. I hope you all feel better soon and get to enjoy the rest of your pregnanciesxx

Hi everyone, I am Lucy, I am currently 9 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am so excited but the sickness is really getting to me!!! Its every day all day and worse in the Mornings and Late evenings. The doctor has given me some tablets for the sickness which are a god send!!!! I take 2 before bed and i am not sick in the morning or during the day. Although strong smells make a little woozey like after shave or greasy food. I am getting better i hope everybody else gets better as it is not a nice experiance to go through. But all i think of is the fact i am going to have a beautiful baby at the end of all this!!!!!

xxxx
