i had a miscarriage on christmas eve and the D&E on wed past. i have just been to my gp today to check my bloods etc because i told him i dont intend to prevent any further pregnancy. he said all they suggest is one period if possible only for dating reasons. so i dont think from that advice you did anything wrong as you had a period. did your doctor or no one say the discharge may have been implantation bleeding? i wont say dont worry because i already know how paranoid i would be in your shoes. how far were you with your first pregnancy and did you recover fast? hoping everything goes well for you at the scan as at my 5 week scan that was all they could see too until the 7 week one were i saw the heartbeat..

i dont have personal experience of a miscarriage but just wanted to wish you well. i had bleeding at 10 weeks with my first baby (now 4yrs old) and at 6, 8, 23, 29, 30 and 33 weeks with my second baby (now 8 weeks old), so the fact that you have had discharge does not have to be a bad sign - implantation bleeding usually happens around 4-6 weeks ( but in my case with my first pregnancy the blood from implantation did not come out until 10 weeks). i am sure you are petrified but try to relax. the fact that it happened very quickly does not mean the same thing will happen again - some people get pregnant again without having a period in between.
and yes, as they said, at 5 weeks your baby will be tiny - internal scans can normally pick them up from 6 weeks but much before then everything is too small so try not to let that worry you.

Hey Nic thank you for your well wishes and Im sorry to hear about your m/c its an awful thing to go through, I was 10 weeks with my last miscarriage but it terminated at about 6 weeks had minor bleeding and went for an emergancy scan which confirmed the m/c. as it it had not come away on its own I had a surgical procedure under anesthetic to remove everything. There was minor damage to my cervix and had a really bad do in the hospital as my heart beat and blood pressure droopped dangerously low due dehydration but recovered quickly there after. I have another scan on the 10th and should be around 7 weeks so hopefully will see something. xx
And livis mum thanks for the well wished, Im worried sick but I suppose I'm bound to be. Think it is because it was dark bloody coloured it frightened me as I had it at 4 weeks with the m/c. xx

i was 10 weeks too and had no symptoms as a warning until i spotted on christmas eve and had the scan . baby died just after 8 weeks so very similar story. It gives me hope to read how others get pregnant fast again as i hope too as well. just to share something my gp told me a the start of my pregnancy because i was frightened this happen. he said what will be will be and worrying wouldnt change it so go enjoy being pregnant. but by stressing something would happen could bring on miscarriage. it helped me face i couldnt change things and i did enjoy the time i had.. good luck with your scan and hope you see enough to ease your mind and enjoy everything from there on xxx

Yeah very similar circumstances then. Yeah I had the same worries first time around too, even more so this time. Im constantly thinking about but reading other peoples stories about not bein able to see anything at a scan at 5 weeks is making me feel a bit more positive. Hi, i had a very similar story to yours, found out that i had mc with my first preg around 10 wks, the baby had died around 6/7weeks. We are currently trying again.
Im sure at your next scan you will be able to see more, you cant see the heartbeat untill 6 weeks. I really hope everything is ok for you this time round. they say that you should only wait to try again for dating purposes, and lots of people mc once and go on to have normal pregnancies.

Yeah I though I was 7 weeks gone Monday but they said I am not that far on and I shouldnt go off my last date as the cycle might not have gone back to normal so I am only between 5 and 6 anyway. So next Tuesday I should be able to see something. Sorry to hear about you m/c its wanna the worst things I have ever been through and certainly dont wanna go through it again..Thanks and I'll let you know how it goes :) xxx

Hey, both times after my miscarriages I got pregant the first month after my period and my thrid pregnancy was fine so im sure its not because it was two quick. I hope everytings fine. I found you only realise after youve had a mc just how many people it happens to but so many go on to have healthy babies after it so try not to worry xx
