Miscarriage

Miscarried 1st pregnancy, now wanting to try again advice please?

Hi all

Can I join this thread?

I found out i was four weeks pregnant on 25/11/11 after trying to conceive #1 after 2 months. Me and my OH were over the moon!!!

On 7/12/11 I started bleeding at work, I thought it was normal as I have heard lots of people bleed a little at first. When I got home it started to get a lot worse so I decided to go to A&E to find out what was going on.

After examinations the doctor told me that my cervix was slightly open (sorry for tmi) and that it was possible I was miscarrying. I was devastated but wanted to know for sure, so the doctor referred me to the EPU for a scan the next day.

Unfortunately the scan result showed that the baby had no heartbeat and had come away from the wall of the womb and was on it's way out. The doctor advised that, after blood tests showed my hormone levels were too low for it to continue, I should have an ERPC which she booked me in for the next day. All went well except I was devastated and took me a week to get my head straight.

We are now trying to conceive again, we started a week after the op, but AF arrived on Tuesday (30 or so days after). I have been trying to work out my cycle as a lot of others said to take a mc as a period and you can work out when you will ovulate.

I am hoping to try again this month, I have worked out that I should be fertile around the 20th Jan.

Anyone else in the same boat? I would love to speak to someone who is going through the same or similar scenario?

Sorry for the length of this post!!

Hi! I found out that i had lost my baby on 17th November, and had an ERPC, but due to complications and an infection didnt stop bleeding untill 3rd Dec. Doctors advised us to wait at least one month because of all the medication i had to have while i was in hospital.
But we are now trying again, i downloaded an app for my phone which works out your most fertile dates, dnt know how accurate it i! i should be fertile around 17th.
Im cant wait to be pregnant again, hoping it doesnt take to long!
I hope you get some good news soon as well!! x

Hi Christina, I had a miscarriaged on the 9th October at around 6 wekks. I didn't have to have a removal procedure as it had all come away on its own. I tried to stay as positive as I could and my husband and i carried on trying. I fell pregnant again quite quickly and am now nearly 10 wks gone. I think the most important thing is not to stress about it, try to enjoy the "baby making" without it becoming too regimental with regards to timing, ovulating etc. This is my 3rd pregnancy and i have never known my

'Fertile time but have always fallen quickly. I think the key is to enjoy yourself and make love frequently rather than just concentrating on 1 or 2 very fertile days. Hope this help a bit x x

hi christina, sorry to hear about your loss. i had the same situation as you on christmas eve. i was 10 weeks when i started to spot so after a scan they said no heartbeat and it was confirmed for sure christmas day and had a D&E on the 28th dec. lucky i had no bleeding at all and my hcg levels back to normal on the 10th of jan. i been doing ovulation tests since then and got a positive result yesterday and today. so im hoping.. anyway you can get 50 ovulation strip tests on ebay for under _5, i used them to get pregnant first time too. they do help get your head around the right times and cost a fortune in the shops. you really should give them a go and good luck..nicolla
