Labour worrieslabour
is it true labour is the worst part of pregnancy?
labour is the best part of pregancy! dont listen to the nightmare stories. to be honest with you its different for everyone. i was lucky i had 2 very quick labours. there is plenty of support out there for you. it can be hard it can be easy, just remember your baby will be with you and you will be seeing it soon (one of the happies times of your life) dont worry.
how far gone are you?
i hope everything goes ok for you
take care

Labour really isn't as bad as some people say - just keep calm and welcome every contraction as taking you closer to meeting your baby. I did this, and only had a Tens machine, gas and air and pethidine, and I found labour absolutely fine. I'm sure you will be too if you focus on staying calm.
When I gave birth to my first baby my six-month-pregnant friend rushed in to see me and asked me to be honest and tell her what labour was like.
My reply was "It hurts like hell but then it's all over!"
I only had gas and air with my first two and intend to do the same this time round (6 days to go!).
I don't think there is a 'worst part' of pregnancy as it's so different for everyone.
Think of it like this...if labour is really that bad then everyone would be an only child!
I have had four girls and am now 27 wks nearly (its a boy!). My first labour sticks in my mind the most.I was 17 yrs old,had moved to birmingham with my then partner and was told at a check up,was a wk overdue.Ended up being kept in,ready to be induced the nxt mornin.Anyway, baby came that nite. I had a rather large, dark skinned midwife, who,as soon as had delivered the placenta,HELD IT up in the air for me to look at. Totally felt sick thanx very much ha ha.
no its not i found it to be the best 18 hours i have ever spent and i was enduce by pesery the first contraction was a shock but i got past it and my baby had passed maconium in the womb because when i had the 1st contraction the baby my waters broke with the shock and i noticed it was a dark pea green colour which ment i was whipped straight into labour room because its dangerous for baby to be left to long , through the night i never diliated and was nearly being given a c section but the discovered babies head was trapped sideways in pelvis which explains why he never dropped down in final month this never harmed him and he was delivered after diamorpheen forceps with an epidural and at 9lb 6 oz i was relieved i had'nt drawn up a birthing plan. i can give you the best tip is to stand up and lean forward when the pain get overbaring and take anything you are offerd in way of relief dont be a hero, i never had a birthing plan

hi i've had 4 births & 2 were long & painful & 2 were quick & much easier births.
And you might be surprised to know that the easier 2 were much bigger babies, than the harder labours!! i don't know how any one can say labour ain't as bad as pep's say, everybody is different & every labour is different.. i've never had 2 labour's or pregnancies the same!! the best thing you can do is listen to the midwife's cos they are there to help, i totally agree with christi_r if you need pain releif ask for it dont be a hero. But i'm sure you will be fine good luck to all you mummies
xx
i think pregnancy is the worst part as i seemed so fed up when i was pregnant. labours great i had a really long and complicated labour (4 days) but it was the best experience of my life, only a few hours later i said to my boyfriend that i wanted to do it again, so dont worry youll be fine
