im due in 9 weeks with baby number 2 and im still scared of labour i was 37 hours with first because of induction but it wasnt that bad lol
when you give your final push and see your baby its all worth it
i know its hard but try to relax theres always pain relief
hi,well i have just had no5 within the last few days and i cant say i wasnt worried as i was no atter how many you have its still a worry over what time you will be how much pain etc etc,but you know 5 minutes after the labour i didnt care at all i just had this beautiful baby and it was all worth it,giing birth isnt that bad,i cant say it doesnt hurt cos it does but not pain like in the movies its very much a personal pain,my 4th baby i was 15minutes and i just wasnt in much pain at all, every time was different, with the labour thisweek i was 2hrs all in and only the last 30minutes were bad but it went so fast,i was in pain 1 minute and he was here the next,so take it from me dont worry and if you cant cope tell the midwie and get any pain relief that suits you, take care and dont worry you will be fine
hi Hayley of course other people are scared. I am 33 weeks with my first and it scares me a lot too but as i have got closer i have actually become more calm about it. there is noting you can do about it now. women are very strong (thats why we have the babies and not men) and really we all cope. i just cant wait to meet our baby xx
hiya Hayley
Well i am pregnat with my 4th baby and im due in december. and i have done the last 3 labours with gas and air and pethadine i must admit i was screaming for an epidural but i dont agree with them so i didnt have one. I cant wait to go into labour this time. its not scary at all. its just a painful expreience that us women are born to cope with,
doesnot matter what you hear beause everyone deals with labour differently as their pain thresh hold is a lot different. the secondyour baby is born you will be wondering what the pain was because you forget about it so fast!
im sure you'll be fine,
I wouldnt personally ask for a C Section there are more down sides to that than a natural birth.
love debbie x x
i'm due in 3 wks with my 1st and i'm trying not 2 think 2 much about the actual birth, just concentrating and looking forward 2 holding my own baby. i know labour isnt gonna b much fun (understatement i know!) but thats wot pain relief is 4. although my hubby turned round and said that ppl rely 2 much on it these days and women have been giving birth without it 4 yrs!! that did not go down 2 well i can tell u!! i'll give him pain!! lol. lets face it tho, we keep doing it so must b worth it! and worrying will only make things worse so take it easy.x
Hi ladies, ive had 6, and i think of it as pain with a purpose. after each contraction i tried to remember to tell myself " thats one less, thats one less" positive thinking! you will be fine, and you wont care once that babe is in your arms, and its that feeling that makes us want to do it again, and again, and again. x
hi hunnie. try not to stressim wxpecting my third and have found the more relaxed you are the easier it is, talk to ur midwife about wat you expect or whant and she will help you to do your birth plan hun so dnt stress . labour aint that bad yest it hurts but i found mine bareable no were near as bad as all the horro storries id herd xxx
Hi Hayley,
I was absolutely terrified of giving birth when i had my son. However after my 9 hour labour on gas and air i have to say it was not as bad as i expected it to be. Do not keep reading other peoples stories because your labour will be completely different. Think of it as something that you need to do as shaz7399 said each contraction is one less as yes it stings/hurts just remember it takes longer to heal from a c section that it does from a vaginal birth.
I am now expecting baby no 2 and i honestly have to say knowing what to expect i think makes it that bit easier. good luck with your pregancy and do not worry too much about your labour. Make a birth plan your midwife can help you with this. The only thing i would do different next time is no students are allowed in the room with me she cut my sons umbilical cord too short and he ended up with an infected belly button.
i hate to say it, but i wasn't worried at all - and that is the truth! i was looking forward to it even before i got pregnant! i was in labour for 3 days and did the whole thing with a tens machine. i got to hospital fully dilated and then had a little gas and air. unfortunately my baby was in a slightly awkward position and i ended up having to have a forceps delivery so for that i had to have a spinal and i wasn't even worried about that! it was incredibly painful but it was such a wonderful experience and i can't wait to do it again!
yes terrified beyond belief - i cant wait to meet the baby (am 28 weeks), but scared more of losing contolk or doing something silly too as well as the pain
