Im now 26 weeks pregnant and am considering having a water birth have been
told there great for pain relief, I'm not very good with pain and it's what i am not
looking forward to most. Can anyone give me any advice?
Hi. I know a few girls who have used the birthing pool while in labour but have got out to deliver the baby's. I'm 38+2 weeks and I fancy using the birthing pool this time if possible as I've heard they are great in labour. You can always try it and if you don't like it get out and try something else. I used a birthing ball through my labour the first time which I found quite good too. If I use the pool this time I'll let you know how I found it. Take care and good luck. x
birthing pools fantastic when you in labour! it realy took the edge off when i was in labour i found it to hot tho when it came to pushing so i delivered on the bed. but i would definately give the pool a go. good luck to u both. xxxx
Thank-you jade43jade good luck with your birth, please do let me know if you get the
chance to use a birthing pool,
Thank-you also to Kathy988 someone else told me that they found the water to hot
when pushing which is great to now thank-you for your comments Jo
hi im 38 weeks pregnant and have a 5 year old i had a waterbirth and found it alot more relaxing than sitting on the bed, the water is hot but i think it takes ur mind off the pain a bit though as ur thinking about how hot it is. i stayed in the bath when i was pushing and i thought it was brilliant as the midwifes dont interfere too much they just check the baby with a mirror and only touch them when they are handing them over to u, so theres no poking and proding lol, i also had gas and air while in the pool,im planning on having a waterbirth this time round 2.
hope this has helped. xx
Hi Nat Nat,
Thanks for your comments would love to hear how you get on with your second birth
but no I think im going to have an water birth every comment I have received is good
so I think thats made up my mind. thanks JOxx
Hiya,
I'm due on monday and im planning a waterbirth, I had a tour of the hospital birthing unit where i seen the birthing pools and just being in the room relaxed me a lot more then the ordanary rooms did as there are so many monitors ect and the room just looks hectic to be honest. The waterbirth rooms are realy nice at my hospital so in a way i am looking forward to it. You have to have a very low risk pregnancy though and if any complications you have to get out. Also you are limited to what pain relief you recieve, at my hospital you can only have gas and air or pethidine. I will let you know how it goes if I get the chance of a waterbirth.
