HI everyone, im 21 and new on this and I have just found out im pregnant about 3 weeks ago. This is my second pregnancy, I have a daughter, she is 3 and just started nursery.
I am a little worried because im not sure how my daughter will react when she finds out, she has a younger cousin who has just turned 1 and is brilliant with her. I dont want her to feel like she going to be left out especially because her brother or sister will have a different father to her.
Does anyone have any advice?
My daughter will be three in November and we have involved her as much as we can since we had a picture to show her. We explained mummy had a baby in her tummy, her little baby brother or sister. We have encouraged her to talk to my tummy and she kisses and cuddles bump morning and evening. I've explained that baby is growing, but will be a long time before he is here. We took her to the second scan so she could see her baby. We've let her be involved in helping us get his room back. It helps that she absorbs information so easily and understands really quickly. We've already explained that she will stay with Grandma when mummy and daddy go to hospital and when we come home we will have her little brother. We talk about the baby all the time. HOpe this helps xxxx
i think your little girl will be fine i am pregnant with my second baby and have a little boy who is 2... and he is just as excited about our new addition as me and his dad... i am planning 2 do a little gift box for my little boy from his new brother or sister so he dont feel left out when everyone is buying for the new baby.. i know having a new baby brings enough cost but it doesnt have 2be expensive stuff @ 3 im sure she loves 2draw or colour how about a new book and some new pens from her lil bro or sis? like u say she already has a cousin and is fine try not 2 worry and involve her and and im sure you'll be fine.. we took our little boy 2 our scan and he told everyone about seeing his sister on the doctors tv and that she had waved 2 him... (oh and we dont know if its a boy or a girl we're having but my son has decided its a sister!!) hope it all goes well try not 2 worry!!
Thanks to both of you it is really helpful what you have said. xx
