First timer, excited and terrified

Hi all, I'm a 30yr old from derbyshire, firstime mum to be, over the moon but terrified of the birth.
Any tips for nausea and sickness would be greatfully received as I can't find anything to work.
Would love to talk to others that are due early next year, I'm due in January.

Hiya, Congratulations.....
Im due in Sept, and i had really bad sickness...anything with ginger is ment to be good, so try and eat some ginger biscuits if your feeling sick in the morning. The best thing though is to just try and eat a little often. Hope this helps

Hiya, I'm new to this site, and new to pregnancy! I'm 34 and got married to my Partner of 10 years in April. We weren't really 'trying' for a baby, just thought we'd stop using protection and let nature take it's course. Well, it has, in less than 3 months!! It's still very early days yet for me, I'm only 3 weeks gone, not due until late March 2009. We're both more than a little surprised that it happened so quickly. Knowing so much can go wrong, I'm trying not to get too excited, but it's such a huge life changing thing, it's hard not to.

Not liking the constant nausia and overwhelming tiredness so far, but I'm hoping it will pass. Hope so, because I don't think my boss will let me nap during the afternoon!!

This whole thing is very nerve wracking. I wish you all a healthy and successful pregnancy.

I only found out yesterday and Im quite scared. Thought I just had the flu coming due to drinking about 10 pints of water every day for the last two weeks. Also worried about the amount of alcohol i drank at the weekend at my friends wedding!!
Feeling a bit sick in the morning and cant stop thinking about lemons! good luck to all you other mums to be! x

Hi My names Michelle, 29, and also first time mum to be. Im about 10 weeks now and have my scan next week to get date for sure but due middle of February. I suffered badly with sickness but at very random times of the day (not good when I dont want anyone at work to know yet) just found sucking fruit sweets helped me more than anything else. The tiredness seems to have passed a bit now as the smallest of things seemed to wipe me out before, but my boobs are still very sore!!!
Im also very excited about the whole experience and just hope that it all goes ok and scan is ok next weeks then it will probably seem more real x

Hi all...Well I found out I was pregnant around 5weeks ago. Its my first time aswell so very nervous about it all. I'm around 11weeks at the moment but wont know for definate until i've had my first scan. We wasn't really trying but its happened and neither of us could be happier. After all its only the good times ahead now. I've had the morning sickness and its eased off now, just hope its stay away. Still feeling reallyl tired all the time which isn't all that good in my job.

Hi all, I found out Im pregnant 2 days ago! Ive been to the GP today and im about 5 weeks, its so hard to not get too excited because we know its still early days, but we cant help it! We wern't trying, it was sort of an accident and we wern't expecting it at all, but we couldn't be happier about it!! I haven't had any symptoms at all, only sore boobs!! My Doctor also told me 1 in 4 women miscarry in the first 12 weeks so that sort of scared me a bit!! Started taking folic acid supplements today too!

Posted on 21/07/2008 14:20:35

hi congrats on the pregnancy, i had no sickness at all but i found folic acid made me feel sick but if i took it when i was going to bed i didn't felt much better,
good luck
chrissy xx
