When I asked my midwife for more information about home birth she just told me to research the internet!!! (I have found this to be the most useful site by the way - thank you all!)
However, I have since been told by a family member that I wont be allowed a homebirth cos of my blood group?
Anyone else heard of this?
hi i can assure you that you can have a home birth my cousin had a home birth boxing day and she herself is rhesus negative my advice to you would be dont listen to what every one says and always ask your midwife they no whats the best advice and what route to take if you want a home birth
im Rhesus negative and i had a home birth with my second child.when he was born they just took some blood from the cord like they do when you are at hospital..when i planned my homebirth with my midwife they came round to see me at about 36weeks to ask some questions on my previous birth and to ask if i had any questions about what happens during a home birth.hope that helps..
i am resus neg and ive had a home birth they take blood from thr babies cord and jab your baby if they need to
I'm also rh neg, but I am planning on having my first baby at home. My midwife says there's no problem, as long as my health ok, but that would apply to everyone and has nothing to do with the blood type. You should do what feels right for you.
