Hi after having my other 3 at hospital i am planning to have this one at home hopefully ! [I am12 weeks preg's] and was hoping some other mums could help me out with info PLEASE ? ie what would i need ? is it just my normal midwife ? and do i need anything extra ? Thanks in advance jo x x x x
hi.. Congratulations first of all!!! I have had two homebirths and they were brilliant although the midwife didnt get to me in time and my partner had to deliver!!! but even still it was brilliant!
There is a website although im not too sure what it is. I think every area is different in what they do but when i had my first they delivered a pack with everything in and all i got was some plastic sheets just to protect the bed/carpet etc....but when i had my last one they didnt and just brought the box with them, and i just got the plastic sheets again, but you could ask your midwife and she may give you a list and ask which is essential. Have you told your midwife you want a homebirth??? make sure you get in early!!! Also ask her in your area how it all works. With me it was just the community midwives that come out which ever two are on call. I do have to say for me it was so so much better than being in hospital....hope everything goes ok for you let me know if there is anything else your wanting answers to and ill try!!! Good luck!
H i thanks ever so much for your reply, when i see the midwife in 2 weeks i will chat to her and let u know, thanks again jo x x x x
