should i be worried?

hi and congratulations on your pregnancy.
you wont necessarily feel pregnant at that stage and it is entirely normal to not have felt the baby move. for a first time, the average range to feel movement between 18-20 weeks but for some it is a bit later - a friend of mine didnt feel either of her children until 22 weeks, whereas i felt my first at 15 weeks and my second at 13 weeks. as for not having a bump - some women dont start to show until 5, 6, or even 7 months pregnant! try not to worry, it all sounds fine. x

hi huni you will probably start working out the babies moverments in the next few weeks they'll feel like buterflys or popping sensations in your belly to start with its easy to mix them up with digestional movements but it wont be long now im sure. as to your size your 16 +2 with your first which mean you still have a good muscle tone which will hold your bump in i didnt show much on my first and alot of people didnt no i was pregnant but again the baby is still growing and at the moment he/she still weighs less than a small bag of sugar soon your baby will start putting on weight and consequently you will start looking bigger and feel heavier try to relax and not worry to much

in a few weeks time you'll look back and wonder why you worried! you'll be being kicked in the ribs and wont be able to fit into any clothes! honestly, enjoy it now! i was very big very quickly with both of my children - with my first i was in maternity clothes at 10 weeks and with my second baby at 8 weeks. back pain started early, not being able to sleep started early, etc etc! enjoy relative normality while you can!

I didn't feel my first baby move until 22 weeks so don't worry at all there's plenty of time. It depends on the position of the placenta too - if it is in front of the baby then you feel movements later and not as strongly. But definitely nothing to worry about, and if you are really stressing out about it then see your midwife - she can listen to the heartbeat for you to put your mind at rest. And tell your OH to tell his mum to think before she speaks!!! Mother in laws!!! :-))xx

ohhh shes caused alot of agro lol, even said to me when i found out i was pregnant that she wants the baby for a week when its a month old. on her own. and that she would take it in her car all the way to southampton (me and bf live in northamptonshire) and she doesnt even have a lisence. i had to tell her im not letting the baby in a car with someone who hasnt got a license. and certainly not at a month old lol xx
