Itchy Nipples anyone?

hello everyone,I have been having itchi nipples on and off.It feels like when it felt when I was nursing DD.The breasts would be full of milk and hence the nipples woule be a bit itchy.I have no leakage though , but the itching is sometimes very irritating as it happens in the most inappropriate of places, like in a shopping centre or when I am at a friend's house, talking to her..any ideas what to do to help relieve it?

Hi Vinskay - I have had this just on one breast on and off during my pregnancy. I am now 22 weeks and also have a bit of milk leakage on this side. Not sure how common it is but my dr didnt seem worried and just said it was my body getting ready for the baby. You're right tho, it happens in the most inappropriate places but I have to itch as its unbearable. I have made myself quite sore at times through itching but so far have found no remedy! If anybody has any suggestions we would sure appreciate it!!!! xx

nettie-it is bad, isn't it?I am glad my itching has gone now,but at one point,I just thought I will be scratching my nipples like crazy and make them bleed!.I put that down to the fact that I have been putting cocoa butter massage cream on my bbs too these days as they havd grown a bit.guess it is working!I hope you get over the itch soon!

I'm 9+4 weeks and I have itchy nipples too. I'm so glad I'm not alone. I've read your skin in general can become itchy as the pregnancy can make your skin dry out so I put it down to that but in an unfortunate place. You're right though, it always happens in inappropriate places, like at my desk at work! All part of it I guess. Good luck!

Hello ladies i am 20 weeks and have had leakages for bout 2 weeks. i have had itchy nipples since the beginning tho which is quite embarassing when you just need to scratch that itch. i have found that vaseline's cream helps to soothe the itching x x

i had itchy nipples...turned out to be thrush, caught it off my baby boy when he was a week old(was breastfeeding)it was because i was taking anti biotics and got steroids injection.
