Feeding your new baby

Planning ahead

Hi ladies as the manic freak I am I'm planing on breastfeeding for as long as poss . However I'm thinking if I'm crap and can't do it even though I plan to try until my bits fall off lol is it worth taking cartons and bottles into hospital with me? And if I do that will the hosp sterilise the bottles between depending how long I'm in? I'm not giving birth in a hospital that provides nappies ect at birth anymore .

i personally wouldnt. you are unlikely to come up against any real problems that early on. the only challenges you will face will be technique and latching which every first time mum has simply because you havent breastfed before - a midwife will be on hand to help you. it can take up to 6 weeks to get breastfeeding successfully established in any event.

Hi congrats! My new baby was starving and cried & cried, cos it took 5 days for my milk to come in, i wish i had brought some formula in to hospital with me. i was trapped there for 3 days if i was c-section.
