Nursing Bra's

Hi

I was just wondering when is the best time to buy nursing bra's. I'm 30 weeks now with my 1st baby and want to get organised and start packing my hospital bag, but don't want to go out and buy them to early and then they'll be too small when the time comes. Any advice? Also advice on best places to buy?

hi...i wore nursing bra's all through my pregnancy, the thing is they are going to be a bit to small even if you buy them closer to the time cos when your milk comes in your boobs obvioualy get bigger!!!Are you going to try and breastfeed??I ask this cos they say that underwired bra's block your milk ducts which is why its better to wear nursing/sleep bras during pregnancy and whilst feeding!!!!
I found that H&M do really really good ones and they were only _7.99(although probably gone up in the last two years!!!)..other than that probably mothercare but they are pretty steep in price!!!!
Good Luck with everything

Hi, thanks for that. You only ever think of the obvious places like Mothercare, but as you say there prices are pretty steep for maternity wear unless you can bag a bargain in the sale. I am going to try and breastfeed yes, I haven't been wearing underwired bra's through my pregnancy as I was told you weren't supposed to, although I didn't know that was the reason, thanks. I think I will have a ride into town at the weekend and try H&M.

Hi, I am currently 18 wks preg with my second and wearing maternity bra's, not nursing ones, the nursing ones allow you to un hook the strap so you can get your boob out when needed(sorry to be crude). When pregnant with my daughter I went into mothercare and bought 1 nursing bra at 38/39 weeks, so that I had a nursing bra once daughter was born, I washed it every day and hung on a radiator/airing cupboard for 1/2 hr and it would be dry. Then I waited a good week or so for my milk to come in, then went back and got measured again and then bought more than 1 in the right size.
Hope this helps, good luck, Georgie, xxx

Hi Kaz

Worried about the price of nursing bra's. Last week I was amazed to find a nursing bra at Tesco's for a fiver! I've actually worn my and i'm only 25 weeks gone. It is ever so comfortable.

So if you have a large Tesco's near you, I would recommend you buy it from there and also it's non-wired.

Take care

If you think Mothercare is too expensive Ebay is quite good and you can get a real bargain at times! I have brought a few which are brandnew off that, which are moda from mothercare, but instead of paying _26 from there I paid _12.99 for two bra's!!
Take Care.

I got mine from Debenhams, they are much prettier than the cheaper end of the range in mothercare and were a better price.
Also if you are willing to pay a bit more and love your underwired bras you can get special maternity ones that are made with a much softer wire and so are better for you. Just google them.
