Going to the gym

Is it ok to still go to the gym when your pregnant, I have just found out but love going to the gym. If it is ok, what is it ok to do and not?

Hi Maisi - congratuations!

I am 37 weeks now and went to the gym every week (just swimming now though). I mostly stuck to the classes though and have done yoga, aqua aerobics and lots of swimming. Just be sure to let them know you are pregnant. They will create a programme for you. Don't do anything too strenous near the end as your more likely to pull a muscle. My baby loves it and is very active when I come home!!

Good luck xx

Hi, I'm 5 weeks pregnant-and 36 yrs old, so not sure how to deal with excercise. This isnt my first baby though.... I normally do spin and bodypump-is that okay with reduced weights, and taking the spinning a little easier? x

i do aqua arobics and i always have a real stress when doin it. i am 13 weeks now and my midwife said if you were at the gym b4 then its ok because its not such a shock to ur system but if not then its best to talk to ur midwife.
