Paternity leave, Includes weekends?

I need to know if paternity leave include weekends?

I know I get two weeks off but two weeks is 14 days and I only work 5 days a week!

So if i don't work a day anyway would this day come of the total amount of days I get off on paternity leave?

I do not work weekends (no one does)

My paternity leave started on 11/09/08 so when would I go back?

Thanks for any help you can give.

its based as 2 weeks that you would normally work so the days you would work are the days you would have off.

It's calender weeks so would include weekends, my hubby works for the railway and has wierd shift patterns (some weeks he works all 7 days and others he is off all week, don't ask me as I don't understand it but is does average out to 38 hours a week) and he has been told it is calender weeks however he has been advised that if he is on safety training to take his paternity after the training is complete in which case he would get an extra week to compensate, I just hope he can get away for the birth.

yes its just 2 weeks, regardless of how many days you work in the week. so you would be due back on the 26th (fri) cos you started your paterity leave on the thurs, but ive just seen that you posted this in sept, so if your not back to work yet, you are in trouble! ha ha.
catherine35, to be able to get paid paternity, your husband would have to be working for the company for 26 weeks, when you reach 15 weeks before your due date. in another words, he would have started work one week before you were pregnant. (adding 26 weeks with the extra 15 weeks left to go = 41 weeks)
that happened to my husband on our little boy, and we had to take it unpaid. on our little girl, he had started a new job, and wasnt entitled, so we used 10 days holiday days instead. this time round we are entitled, but its something like 90% of your wages or a set amount whichever is the most.
i dont think paternity leave is fair, and it should be changed. but thats just my opinion and my husbands ofcourse, he would love more time home with us, even if it is reduced pay. by the time the visitors stop calling so regularly, its time for him to go back to work. its awful.

if your not entitled to paternity leave through your employer you can claim from benifits office you get the same amount for the same time i.e 117.50 for 2 weeks

shaz just to point out it is 90% of your wages or 117.50 whichever is the LEAST.
