Dads-to-beIs He Normal?
My partner and I were trying for a baby for over 2 years. Finally in January I found out I was pregnant, because it took so long for it to happen it took my partner a while before he would actually believe it. He was really looking forward to us starting a family but now it feels as though he isnt that interested, he trys to change the subject when I talk about baby stuff & he has only felt the baby kick twice & im 27 weeks, anytime I ask him he says he doesnt want to feel because it creeps him out, is this normal? It has me feeling rather down :(
i dont know if its normal but my partner is the same and my LO when she is born in 5 weeks will be seriously ill and i feel alone and down too :(
Im very sorry to hear that your baby will be ill :( That must be tough.. I was so excited when I found out I was pregnant I thought everything was going to be so happy and nice and its not, I feel as if he doesnt want me to be pregnant :(
I think some people can get scared when it actually happens even if they've been trying for ages - its like a panic, oh my god its happened what now!!!! Maybe he's worrying about being a dad, or about money issues, or how it will affect your relationship when the baby comes. You need to sit him down and talk to him and find out how he's feeling about it all, you can't carry on feeling like this and stressing about it when you should be relaxing and enjoying your pregnancy xxx
my oh was the same i would have to grab his hand to feel the kicking lol..i think its becasue your the one carrying the baby they feel left out as such and maybe doesnt feel like he can grab your tummy all the time. and as buffy said hes probably scared. keep him involved as much as possibly, get him baby books about being a dad, make sure he goes to scans, hospital appts etc when your baby appears your partner will be smiling the biggest smile ever and if like my oh you might have to ask to hold your baby he'll be holden it so much. congrats and all the best !!
