Changing moodsHaven't been on here in a while....
...as all I seem to do is moan. I'm 34+ weeks and suffering from Polyhydramnios and SPD/PGP whatever they want to call it these days. I have a 2 year old I need to entertain and run around after and although my hubby is fab he needs to go to work so we can afford to live. Other than that support is very limited, parents being worse than useless and 2 of my close friends are 1st time mums with tiny babies and another close friend lives an hour and a half away and runs her own training business so she can't be here for me, however I easily get bi-daily phone calls from her which shows she cares.
Concerns at the moment are that i suffered with pre-eclamsia in 1st pregnancy and had a post partum haemorrhage of nearly 3000ml. Oops!
I don't do pregnancy well! Either that or I like to get my moneys worth out of the NHS?!?
Anyone got any funny stories or good news to cheers me up? Xx
awww, bless you, you do sound like you're having a tough time.
one of friends doesnt do pregnancy well either - hyperemesis throughout pregnancy with both of them, hospitalisation due to it, failure to progress in labour, both emergency c-sections - she said even if she wanted more, she just couldnt put herself through it again!
my sister had pre-eclampsia with both of hers but second time wasnt as severe. first time she was admitted to hospital at 30 weeks (which was right over xmas) and wasnt going to be allowed out until she delivered. by 36 weeks they were so concerned about her that they tried to induce her, but baby got distressed and she ended up with an emergency section. second time round, she displayed symptoms at 36 weeks and was admitted to hospital but things werent as bad as first time round - i think had she not had it first time, they would have just monitored her from home, but given she had had it before she was hospitalised again. at 38 weeks they decided enough was enough and she had an elective section. she has also said that she gets her money s worth from the NHS! She could always tell when the doctors were coming to see her because her hopsital file is 3 times the size of most of the other women on the ward at the time!
as for funny story, my daughter is counting my "stripes" (stretch marks) and has got to about 100 now (cheeky madam!) so that is always entertaining - particularly as she counts 1-16, then skips to 100, so i am lucky really she doesnt know about thousands or millions!
Love it, counting your stripes. That did make me chuckle.
Sounds horrific being hospitalised for 6 weeks. I would have to refuse I think as my hubby couldn't afford to take the time off work, they're already being brilliant and giving him the day off when we have hospital appts. His boss has also said if he needs to take unpaid leave of holiday coz he needs to be at home then they can easily sort something out.
I'm concerned as there is a 90% chance of haemorrhaging with Polyhydramnios and with my history I'm looking at a 99.9% chance. I'd rather not die if that's at all possible. I'm hoping they talk about inducing me and managing my labour when we go tomorrow. If not I'm gonna bring it up.
Any more funny stories guys? X
oh dear that doesnt sound good. surely they wont let you go into labour naturally with all that going on? hopefully not.
Hi, was trying to think of a funny story to cheer you up and couldn't think of anything (still got baby brain even though my son is 15 months old lol), but was just sat watching my son playing and noticed he had what looked like a black bead in his hands, grabbed it off him wondering how the heck he'd got it, and then realised it was a woodlouse - one of those that curls up in a ball when you touch it!!!! Wanted to scream and chuck it but he'd have picked it up again so had to carry it into the kitchen and get rid of it then spent 5 mins washing my hands lol.
Hundreds of poundsworth of toys and he plays with a woodlouse! :-p
He also carries bits of string round the house, or any bits he can find on the floor lol, well at least he's easily pleased! :-)))xxx
Lol livi's mummy my kids would be there all day counting mine
Lol buffy good job he didnt eat it - yuk!
Well 2nd time mum to be, when I was expecting my son my younger daughter was then just under 4, we all went to 20wk scan and found out we were having a boy and the girls were so excited, we were in sainsburys and the lady at checkout was a larger lady and Gracie told her that we had seen our baby on the telly and it was a boy and the woman was chatting away to her and then Gracie came out with 'have you seen your baby on the telly' and she wasnt pregnant just fat I was mortified luckily she laughed and saw the funny side but i was so embarrased almost ran out of there or tried to but probably just waddled.
