Caesarean sectionc-section
i had 2 have an emergnancy c-section with my daughter (now 3 and starts nursery in sept) quite late in2 labour im currently 25wks 2days and am under the consultant and mayb having another c-section has any1 had a section and was their recovery better the 2nd time or not
Hiya,
I was the same, had to have e-section with my son after being fully-dilated & he got stuck. Hes 3 in sept.
My 2nd son is 11wks and opted for planned section with him. I could have tried vbac but there was a risk it could happen again as my cervix is quite small but I wanted a section anyway.
When I went in for it, I was wit 2 other girls, one in the same boat as me & the other was her first but she had a letter from her doc cos she had a v.bad phobia about givng birth.
It was more scary cos I knew what to expect etc and had more time to think about it. But the actual op was better as it was very calm & the staff were lovely.
I hate to say it, but it felt more painful for me afterwards but think it was because the midwifes seemed to frget to give us painkillers on time etc! on saying that tho, I was out on the 3rd day by 12noon. Plus I was driving after 2wks & doing all the chores, no time to rest with a toddler. And after about 3wks I felt fine.
so recovery was fine, think some people are unlucky, but also think some people have higher pain threshold and just get on with it.
take care x
id like 2 try vbac but am scared ill go in2 labour and end having a section anyway this time im doing it alone as my ex walked out on me when i found out i was pregnant and havent seen him in 5months and my daughter hasnt been around since last march so no help from him either and unfortunately my family arent local they r a good 4-5hrs away

Hi Karen, i had an emergency c-section with my 1st shes 4 in october. After going through a 3 day induction, then 14hours of labour she was still high and laid wrong plus she was 9lb 4oz and im only little. This time round we asked for an elective c-sectio. This was 3 weeks ago yesterday. Because I new what to expect I was petrified and scared that something would go wrong. To be truthful other than a bit of difficultiy to get the spinal in the op its self was fine the staff were brill had skin to skin straight away. was calm, music playing. I had my little boy 12.44pm thursday was home sat morning 9:15am. (only live 10mins from hospital). The recovery this time has been better I was up and walking around by 8pm.(still had catherter though). I stood up straight as soon as i got out of bed as with my first i hunched over. It dodnt seem to hurt as much this time round think because id not done the labour before. I have ended up with a bit of swelling thats weeping from my inscision but other than that it was a better experiennce.
