Posterior VBAC vs Elective Section Please Help!

Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me some advice please? Currently 35 weeks pregnant with baby 2 and was planning a VBAC. Hospital very supportive of this; however recent antenatal appts have indicated a second posterior baby. Last labour was horrific... failed inducation, ARM, drip, epidural, pushed for two hours, failed forceps then an emergency section. I have since suffered with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and for some weird reason I haven't been able to get on a aeroplane since the birth 4 years ago. I am currently having treatment for this and it is all to do with lack of control. I am not one of these women that feel that I need to give birth naturally to feel complete, to be honest I am frightened to death of a repeat performance. The only reason I am attempting a VBAC is because I know it's best for me and baby. I know baby has got time to turn but baby number 1 never did. I have done lots of research into VBAC vs RES and know a straightforward VBAC is better, but has anyone experienced a posterior VBAC and is it generally traumatic, painful, long and resulted in a repeat emergency section? Does anyone have nice experiences of elective sections (I understand that it's not supposed to be as traumatic or recovery not as long!) Advice and stories please! Starting to panic now!! (Sorry for the long post!) Michelle

hey, sorry i can't actually help with ur situation but wanted to let u know that i'm trying for a VBAC in next 3weeks. I still don't know if it's the best choice or if it will happen but I'm so scared of a repeat of last time with the rough labour & emergency section. I guess I just wanted to let u know that I kinda understand your worries -u want to try for VBAC but are scared it will end in an emergency section. I hope all goes well for you xo

Hiya Hun.

When i pregnant with my first wee one i had to have a forceps intervention as she was distressed and even tho i didn't want it it was the best for my baby. With my second one i had to have a caesarian as he was breach and wouldn''t turn even tho we tried and i have to say that the elective caesarian was fantastic. I knew the exact date he was gonna be born, no labour pain and even tho i was in hospital for 2 days, because i knew i was gonna be there for that long i had loads of things with me. It wasn't traumatic at all and apart from the trapped wind....!! well - no more on that... ha ha

I would just say, do whats best for you and your baby and if it means another caesarian then so be it.

Take care and hope it goes well.
