Caesarean sectionI have very very heavy bleeding 8 weeks after my c-section! its this normal as its very scary
I started bleeding again last night and its super super heavy, even blood clots, some black blood and lots of bleeding.. I freaked out and not sure if this is normal??? my periods are normally light and only last a couple of days.. I feel exhausted and drained.. no one told me about this part??? THERE SHOULD BE A LEAFLET EXPLAINING ALL THIS THINGS.. i had no option than to have a c-section.. ';((( its really scary and have called the cow & gate hotline but no one has called me back yet.. doctors are closed!! please can anyone tell me about this thanks
hi ive never had a section but have had two babies and due my 3rd in 3 weeks, as far as im aware it's normal to have some bleeding after having a baby (nomatter what kind of delivery you had) however the type of bleeding you describe sounds abnormal you should really call the doctor on call or get to a&e at the hospital as that could be a sign that there is something wrong please dont wait and get checked out as what you describe isnt normal. i had a look on the nhs website to see if there was anything there about sections and bleeding and it seemed to relate to what i thought when i first read your post ,if you cant get to a hospital or call a doctor on call you should really take it easy and rest!! hope this helps xx
that sounds like it may be your period - your first period after birth is usually very very heavy. dont expect your periods to be like they were before you were pregnant and dont expect them to regulate immeditely as it can take the full postnatal 12 months before things settle down. in fact my periods never settled down after my first baby was born and four years on my cycle is anywhere from 4-7 weeks apart.
i would perhaps ring an out of hours doctor though to just check it over as obviously we arent medically qualified.
thanks so much for your comments, i will get to the doctors first thing tomorrow.. i am resting and will take it easy until then xxx
make sure you listen to your body in the meantime and if you feel worse then get help immediately
your welcome hope all is ok with you xx
Why dont you call NHS Direct to put your mind at ease? they will call you back tonite! 08454647
