Baby equipmentTommee Tippee Bottles...
Hiya,
A while back there was things in the news about baby plastic bottles having a chemical in them that can be dangerouse, think it was BPA? Sorry if i'm wrong.
As me and my partner are on a slight budget what with house hunting, wedding plans and our first baby on the way etc, we have been buying the odd things since quite early on to spread costs, and already I have bought the bottles, 8 tommee tippee ones. It wouldn't be easy for me to go out and buy a whole new batch of bottles, it would be a waste of alot of money, but are the bottles I have safe? Obviously i'm not going to risk anything if they aren't but it would be a big step back.
Basically I just want some feedback. Does anyone know what bottles are and are not classed as safe. And if any mum's on here have / do use tommee tippee bottles what is your view on this?
Any feedback would be great, many thanks :) xox
personally I would trust the tomee tippee brand, along with advent and such like. It's only when you buy the really cheap unknown brands that I would start to worry, not just because of any chemicals but airflow and stuff like that. I honestly think you sleep soundly and not have to worry with such a good brand!
hi hun i'm using avent and a couple of tomee tipee bottles for the first time and i find them
really good. and i havent had any probs think as lucyanna says it prob only cheepy
bottles taht you have to worry. good luck with everything!!!!! hugs xxx
Hi Emma,
we're using tommee tippee bottles for Grace who's 8weeks & we haven't had any trouble with them. They're closer to nature 1s which r supposed to simulate a breast so they can be used alongside breast feeding. Anyway, like lucy & dbeech said I wouldn't worry about those chemicals, tommee tippee r a well recognised brand & I'm pretty sure they can be trusted to produce safe products!! :)
Good luck with your pregnancy & the wedding, r u getting married b4 or after baby? We were supposed to be getting wed on May 17th until we found out we were expecting & due date was May 14th!! :) the wedding is now Oct 4th so I know what you're going through having a lot to pay & save for!!
Take care,
Jodie & Grace xxx

Thank you for your posts girls :)
We are planning the wedding after baby so we have enough time to save so we can still have a nice wedding with no price cuts :) Then there is the price of houses, new baby, christening next year.. lol I scare myself saying all these things, it's going to add up!!
I hope your pregnancy goes well Jodie and the same for your wedding :D xox
Hey i have bought ssome tomee tippee ones (plain ones & a couple of the pink decorated ones too) & my niece has been on them since she was born & everythings absolutely fine :) also most of mine for the baby - due monday :S are dr.browns.. not sure of many ppl using these so hope these are ok too!! x
Hi. Most of the baby bottles contain bpa but no where near enought to make a difference i was told as long as you follow the guidelines like dont make up the bottles with boiling water let the water cool for 30 mins and throw away any scratched bottles you should be fine i have used the tommee tippee bottles and i now use avent and ive never had any problems with any of them the only bottles that dont contain the chemical are the mam bottles which you can buy in boots or mothercare
I have tomy tippee closer to nature bottles, these meant to be any good? Am planning on breastfeeding, but just incase, and may express some of my milk too.

we've just bought the tommee tippee closer to nature bottles for our baby that's due in september and i would trust the brand all the way. i think it was only the cheap bottles that had any problems
I've been using the Tommee Tippee closer to nature bottles for 8 months now, with no problems at all...........they are a good brand, and if anything was seriously wrong with them, I 'm sure there would have been a product re-call by now......but seeing as everyone I know seems to use them.....I'm sticking with them!!
Good luck with the baby, wedding, house, christening!!!!
