yes at 24 weeks plus you are entitled to _190 from the government even working mums are aloud to claim this you need to get the form from your midwife its called the health in pregnancy grant

Im wondering if im entitled to anything... iv been made redundent, and OH looks to be also in 4 weeks :-( so not a great time at the mo n money really scare.... x

hi huni if you have worked for at least 26 weeks in your 'test period' (66 weeks up to and including the week before the week your baby is due) - part weeks count as full weeks you are entitled to maternity allowance they pay a standard weekly rate of _128.73 or 90 per cent of your average gross weekly earnings (before tax), whichever is the smaller.

Umm if i finished work at 21 weeks does that mean im entitled to anything?

yea iv worked continuosly for 8 odd yrs... was in last job for 18 months n finished 4 weeks ago..... have applied for tax credits n entitled to 15 quid a week which is shocking... OH working so cant claim (although he finishes soon also) working in our sector doesnt give u job security.... x

maternity allowance you dont have to count just one job its the overall amount you have worked so you can include your prevous job
the tax credits is that working tax once you have a the baby you will get childtax credits which will give you more again http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/leaflets/wtc2.pdf look at page 6 and 7
plus child benefit is _20.30 a week for the eldest child and _13.40 for any additional children
