Baby equipmentIsofix car seat & pram advice please.
Hi, I'm looking to buy a pram that can be changed from a lie flat pram (for newborn) into a seat as baby gets older. as I dont have space to house seperate carry cot & seat. I had the pilko pramette for my first child which did this and I loved it.
But, I also want a car seat (with isofix) which can be clipped straight onto the wheels which is quick & lightweight for short trips to & from car (like for the school run.)
Does anyone know of a pram that does all this, or do you think I will have to buy 2 seperate ones! been shopping around but don't know where else to look.
Not sure about prams that can be changed from lie flat to seat as I have an Oyster with carrycot, but I have gone for maxi cosi isofix with pebble car seat. I got adapters so I can use car seat with pram chassis, so there are probably adaptors available for other prams too.
Hi, you can get the car seat for the pilko pramette from mamas and papas, dont think they do it as a travel system as such but if you call the customer service line or go to your nearest stockist, they will be able to tell you exactly how much etc. Also Ive just been looking at the silvercross surf range, thats a pushchair you can use from birth as it comes with a babynest and you can buy the car seat, have a look its amazing!lol Hope this helps.xx
Hi, thanks for the info. It's the maxi cosi carseat I've been looking at, I like the style & lightweight too, which is what I need this time as I'll be in + out car for school run, I'll have to check out what adapters they do, then find a suitable pram.
I've sold my old pilko pramette now so starting from scratch, I did have the matching carseat but was quite heavy when attached to pram so never really used it as a travel system, but this time really will need to be able to attach carseat to chassis for (car to school ) with my eldest.
xx
just had a quick look at the silvercross surf, looks lovely + has matching car seat, will be keeping an eye out for that at shops too, thank you :-)
I had a britax b smart travel system. The pram layed flat and then could be used upright, I had a separate car seat that clipped into the pram chassis and can be used with an isofix base.
the mothercare my3 or my4 are as you are looking for xx
Thank you for all your replies, going shopping again this week so now got lots of ideas to look out for. x
